Gave my brain and my heart a much needed break from the very stressful situation my family is faced with right now after they tested positive for the COVID-19 virus . They are now in the middle of their prescribed quarantine period add to that a bunch of our neighbors rubbing salt to our injuries. Slowly but surely I can feel a heavy sadness in my heart and an almost uncontrollable anger. Thanks to online shopping, it gave me relief. Just browsing through the many colorful items brightened my spirit. Mylot also helped a lot. How do you give yourself a break from a very stressful situation?

Mylot is a good place to take a break or destress. It has always worked for me. I am sorry about your family going through this. This is a nasty virus and anyone can get infected. I feel angry with the attitude of your neighbours. Wishing you all a speedy recovery.

For several days my anger was so tangible in my heart and my brain was not thinking good things to say or do to these neighbors at all. My taking a break cleared my mind a little bit and pulled me back to the good side of life.

@gamayngbaki That was a wise thing to do. Negative emotions do no good except for affecting our own health. Are you also infected? Stay positive and all will be well. Sending prayers for your family.

How many members of the family are infected? Are you all living together? hearing what people say will get you really down. it is better to divert your attention to other things like online shopping and mylot.

My niece's entire family got infected; her husband, her three children and her mother in law ; who is still right now in a hospital sedated and intubated. We're not living together in one house but our houses are all in one compound. Mylot helped a lot and also Lazada.

@rakski It's almost the same situation as ours. It's frightening to think that the virus is already very near almost knocking on our door. But I don't allow fear to paralyze me in one corner and just leave my family alone to take care of themselves while I hide in the corner to preserve my own life. I would die of guilt.

@allen0187 Oh wow that's nice. All these activities you mentioned really are very effective ways to shut down ones self from the outside world

Wow I like how you do It! But how do you shut down completely? I tried to keep myself occupied by online window shopping in Lazada. It gave me so much relief it's as if my mind and my heart gave a deep breathe of air.

@eileenleyva Yes it's indeed trying times for all of us and it also put to the test our neighbors and friends. Today March 17 is actually the end of their home quarantine. It's freedom day today

I'm also very panicky but this time I have to take control of my emotions and be strong (physically, emotionally, psychologically) for all of them because I'm their connection to the outside world.

Taking nature walks and listening to music is a nice way to rest and relax from stressful situations. Since the pandemic I could not take long nature walks. These days I just stay in my garden and spend quality time with my beloved plants.

@gamayngbaki that's so cool. Plants are good and have that food feeling especially when they grow well and healthy.

When we sleep we give our bodies and our brain a chance to recover and to grow from any trauma it might have experienced while wide awake and active

When I am stress, I would write something. Whether in MyLot, blog or try to produce a new novel.

It is quite difficult for me to run away from stressful situations, carmela. That is why in the seminary I love the "feria quinta" , a day off, when we are allowed to go out to watch movies, to go shopping, and to go malling!

Fr Jun what would seminary life be without "feria quinta"? I think it would be most unbearable. Thanks to your seminary rectors for giving you days off to relax and breathe fresh air

I love how you take a break. Sleeping does not work for me because when I wake up my dark feelings and thoughts are still there. I will stay strong because I'm the only connection they have to the outside world.
