LOVE with lies?!?

This happened long ago.
Had a guy who was nice. He was respectful, he accepted me the way I am.
I discovered some lie about him. I discovered from another source.
If he wouldn't have been respectful or so, I would have just left. But this time I was conflicted.
I wanted to know what's going on from him. But I couldn't ask directly.
As if suddenly I had no voice.
Feeling building up...I liked him, I wanted to trust him, feeling betrayed and confused at the same time.
Later, I don't know what happened, we stopped contacting. Guess he realized that i found out stuffs about him...But its just a guess. He left.
Now I am thinking what should I do if it happens again with another guy or girl? Should I confront? How? I can't just accuse. I can't even go with all my emotions to the person, it might scare them and make them lie again.
What do you do when someone lies to you? How to confront? What would you have done..??

Firstly move on then get involved in another relationship. Don't carry the emotional baggage. Every person is different so we can't stop trusting people at the same time we need to be careful. I don't like when people lie to me, so I maintain distance if it doesn't harm me otherwise I confront and don't talk. You take care
