Here in Malaysia, it's normal for a company to allow a long break during lunch on Friday. It's to allow the Muslim male staff to go for Friday prayer. My company gives us a break from 1 pm to 2.45 pm. On such day, I would usually go out with my friend for lunch and then just talking, trying to catch up on each others' lives. We could hardly speak to each other during work after all. Here's a picture from our outing today. I bought another pack of pre-cut honeydew. I still couldn't find the whole fruit there. Image is mine.

I think my favorite Malaysia food was Beef Rendang (that may be spelled wrong)

@DocAndersen there's also chicken tika here but you won't find it easily in any restaurant. Maybe a mamak restaurant would have it. Ever eat in mamak restaurant while you was here?

The next to papaya was guava. Honeydew was below it.

That's a long break, the longest in Indonesia is only 2 hours. In fact, I have noticed that now many have been cut, including no more mass leave.

I like honey dew, but I love cantaloupe a little more. It's nice that the company allows a longer break on Friday.

There's also cantaloupe there. I would try that next time. It's a norm for a company to allow that if most staff are Muslim. We're also allow to leave to pray for certain period of time as well. Muslim pray five times a day.

@prinzcy I wish we had such a nice selection of sliced fruit in our stores. I have to go to another town to get this and the prices are expensive. It's good this is allowed. I think companies here will make accommodations sometimes for those practicing their faith.

That is a long lunch break. Here, most lunch breaks are for one hour. And that is usually too long for a lot of us. I always fall asleep on my lunch break. Usually for half an hour. I set an alarm on my phone to wake me so I can be back at work on time.

On the every other day, I would have a forty minutes lunch break. I would either eat, MyLot or sleep during that time.

Yes, it's a good time to enjoy hanging out with friend from work. We're pretty much don't talk while working as we don't stay in the same department.

What a good break time to do just what you do. I like cut fruit too. Living alone, a whole fruit is too much. I found a store that has just the right amount for a good price.
