What are you up to on this sunny and cool Saturday?

It's Saturday. That means I don't have to answer to anyone. So far I have talked to a friend about his latest YouTube video, fed the cat, eaten breakfast and lunch, and played on MyLot.
Some folks are up in arms about Dr. Seuss's estate putting six books on hold, because of what might be considered "racist" imagery by today's standards.
Some have fallen victim to a "false narrative" that censorship was involved. I just shake my head and sigh.
It's sunny and about 63 F out, so I feel a cycle coming on. When in doubt, get some exercise. But first, I'm going to practice a guitar tune by Lyle Lovett called "Creeps Like Me." It may wind up being my next YouTube video.
What are you up to on this sunny Saturday?

It's 55 F outside and storming, thunder and lightning shaking the windows here. I was asleep until a particularly loud boom woke me up...
It's been raining hard for two days now. We have a flood watch in effect. Pretty and I are ready for the rain to stop for a few days. *sigh*

@TheHorse Yes, eventually, when I plant something. It is still far too cold at night here to bother planting anything. We're still getting down in the 30s at night.

It IS censorship, and a musician such as yourself should never be okay with denying art based on someone else's interpretation of the art. Mark Twain wrote about black people in a way we cannot speak today. But it was historical. It was the way things were in his time. Lots of things are good and bad, and we should never cancel culture or deny history just because we don't like what it says.
Malcom X was EXTREMELY racist. But he is considered a hero by some. What do you think if we tried to shut down his words? Do you comprehend what the backlash would be from that?
Black comedians can pick on white people all day long. But try to turn the tables and have a white comedian make fun of black people? Different story.
We are not censoring hate speech. We are censoring speech of hate from only one side. The rest of the bunch can say whatever they want.
This is NOT okay.
We are at a strange place today where a country singer can sing about minimum wage and be lambasted and chided and ridiculed for being insensitive to low wage earners...
But rapping about b*tches and hoes is perfectly fine and no one gets their panties into a bunch.

@porwest "Capitulation" is a good word. You're preching to the choir there. You know that political correctness is one of my nemeses. But let's save "censorship" for when it actually happens. Hyperbole doesn't serve people well, wherever they fancy themselves to be on the political spectrum.

@TheHorse No, no, no. I am fully aware that it was the Seuss family (even though that's not really their name) who made the decision. But one has to keep their head wrapped around one word that is THE key word here.
Capitulation.
The family of this writer simply caved to pressure. And that is a VERY dangerous and scary thing. Because it is just one more organization that has done this. Capitulate and cave. And the more power the left gets by succeeding from the pressure they are putting on, the more emboldened they will become and the more cancelling of everything they will also succeed with. Slowly turning this sort of thing into something that feels normal.
Barely a head turned when Mr. Potato Head became gender neutral. Nary a brow was raised when a transgender Ken doll was floated around. No one bats an eye when a Redskin becomes a Washington Football Team, or Aunt Jemima no longer sweetens a pancake anymore.
At some point we need to just slow down and come back to our senses, and stop all of this nonsense. We are allowing everything to be ruined. And it just makes no sense. It makes no sense that there are people out there who are essentially sensible people who actually sit back and go, "Ah heck. Why not?"

---------------That's my motto. I have it in needlepoint, hanging over my bed.
My staff Fortune Teller said Stairway To Heaven was going to be your next video. I'd have her flogged if Vanny would let me.

Because there are protests in town I went to lunch, went to see my brother, then came home and slept. Clocks are all set ahead (because this time tomorrow it won't be this time tomorrow), and I've been watching tornado coverage out of the Texas panhandle.

I wish I could ride horses. I use to have several. With my spine injuries, I can't and it ticks me off @TheHorse . I rode horses from the time I was 11.

@TheHorse Spousal brutality. Like: have you ever been thrown from a car moving at 35mph? Flipping end over end down the concrete? Just one of the many incidents. Placed on the floor on your stomach with both arms being held in a Full Nelson with a knee centered between your scapulas?

Not much going on here. Love the picture. Chilly today; but it will warm up into the 50s tomorrow. Have a great day.

@TheHorse The horses are on pasture 24/7 unless one needs special care. Goats are in the barn.

It is Sunday now. Yesterday, I did my laundry and played with my cat for a bit, but otherwise rested. Something in that nasty Shake 'n Bake that my friend put on the chicken at dinnertime didn't agree with me at all, so I went to bed at about 8:00 pm. He knows I don't like Shake 'n Bake, and it doesn't like me either. But, he can't imagine making chicken without it. Oh well, another week to two weeks, and I'll be back in my own place, preparing all my own meals again. So, I'll survive.

@TheHorse It's not that I have not tried. He has never experienced food allergies or sensitivities himself, and does not know anyone else who has. So, he doesn't understand my gastrointestinal issues, and believes they are caused by me eating more than 1200 calories per day - which I don't. But, whereas he only eats one meal a day, I spread my 1200 over three meals (and sometimes one or two snacks) per day. And, I drink sixteen to thirty-two ounces more water than he does each day as well.
I have peppermint and ginger teas on hand that calm my GI tract. So, I will make it through until I move into my own place sometime within the next two weeks (depend on how ling the electric company takes to turn all the power on).
