I'm so aggravated

We recently changed from DISHNetwork back to DIRECTV.
DISH was okay, but confusing to navigate. So, a week ago I called DIRECTV to order. As a new customer we would receive a VISA card for $300 which would cover the$260 we owed DISH for early termination.
Well, why in the world would I assume DIRECTV would put me under contract for the package I ordered? We got a bill today for a higher priced plan than what I ordered.
I just spent over an hour on the phone with them, told the whole thing to four different people, and now have to wait a couple of hours for a fifth person to call me.
To be continued...

Thanks. We had problems over raising our bill several times. And now this when I just signed up last week!

Still waiting for the call. Last time we were with DIRECTV for 20 years and after they kept changing our fees, I spent days trying to convince them that someone had promised to keep our bill at $70 a month for a year. Finally did, but it's a wonder I didn't have a stroke from stress.

@porwest I think and hope this is fixed. They signed me up for a more expensive package and it's been a nightmare trying to sort it out.

@1creekgirl The constant fee changes irk me to no end. It's always amazing they are able to bring the bill back down, which to me, just means they are gouging us most of the time.

I never liked dish. I only had it when I did, because it was the only thing that my complex would allow. I hope you have better luck with Direct.

@1creekgirl No, it's not. I mean I could easily navigate it, but I'm a self-proclaimed tech nerd. I can't help myself when it comes to technology.

DISH was hard to navigate and not user friendly.

@1creekgirl I fear that in many cases workers are now both liars and incompetents, they do not care of their job, they only want to get their salary and go home.

@LadyDuck The original woman who signed me up lied about the reward card saying it would be $300 when it's actually $200.

I really think the original woman who signed me up was either a liar or totally incompetent.

And this is why I have chosen not to use either one of them. Another example of how they can't get it right.

I just found out they can raise your monthly fee even though I signed a two year contract. But just let me try to cancel it and I have to pay $20 for every month remaining in the contract.

@1creekgirl They get you one way or the other. That's part of the reason I just cut the cord permanently and got rid of it. I only have Amazon Prime right now, and even that I barely ever use.

All of the dish and satellite companies are shady. I spent 15 minutes on the phone with a rep who told me she couldn't do any better than the $238 we were being charged, when new customers get all kinds of deals. $238 is outrageous. I hope you don't give up on getting satisfaction for your complaint. I wouldn't let them get away with it.

I got off the phone a few hours ago and as far as I know, they fixed it and my bill should be $74 a month.

That's funny. It appears to be fixed, but we'll see.

Wow, I know exactly how you feel. I experienced something similar with my energy provider here. Where they overestimating my gas bill. Charging me $1000 in a month and it's warm outside. That took MONTHS, I had to contact the local news channel to get in connection with someone incorporate. I told my story countless times.
I hope everything works out. Don't stop pushing.

I really liked DirectV until At&T bought them a few years ago. I told Mike to wait and see if our bill goes up without warning. WIthin 2 months of the takeover, it went up $45/month. No explanations as to why.
So we cut the cord, bought a ROKU and over the air digital antenna and have been satisfied every since. Instead of paying a little over $100/month as we were, we pay $30/month for having SLINGTV. We don't subscribe to all the other streaming channels though they push us to. We aren't interested in them.
I hope it gets straightened out for you without too much more aggravation.

As of a few hours ago, it seems to be resolved. But who knows?

Ugh sounds like a pain, I have Xfinity because that’s all that’s available where I’m at...
