What a night...

I am sitting outside with a few residents today laughing and enjoying each other's company. We see not one, but two deliveries from McDonalds by DoorDash. A few of us think... That we might order from there too. I don't know if the others did...but I did. It had been over two years since I had anything from there. So I figure... It would be okay, since I don't do it that often. So... I place my order through DoorDash...and it is due to arrive in around 15 minutes. Problem number one of many... The delivery guy sends me a text that I gave them the wrong address. I said no. It has always been the same address since I opened the account up. I go outside to flag him down a couple of blocks away. He sees me and meets up with me. I ask if he could drop the food off at the front of the building, and I will be there shortly. He says no... He will give it to me where I am at... He gets out of his car without a mask, and I ask him to put it on, and he doesn't. He just smiles and hands me the food. I open the bag... My order is wrong, and the fries are ice cold. The only thing they got right was the drink. I call DoorDash back, and they ask McDonald's to send me a new order and list all the items that should be on there. I am thinking okay... It is a little late, but I will finally get my correct food. Noooooooo!!!! This time I got not one, but two orders of the same thing, and they still ended up making the same errors that they did on the first order. So instead of having two wrong orders, I now have three. So I all back and tell them that I should not have to pay for food that I did not order. By this time the food does not even look appetizing to me anymore, and so I have to chuck it!!! So the girl kindly offers me a refund, and ask if I want it in DoorDash credits towards another order, or to my bank account. I opted for the bank account since I don't eat out that often. I then get an email confirmation that the credit was made to DoorDash and not my bank. So I have to call again... Finally 2.5 hours later, everything is settled. They did give me an extra $5 for my inconvenience towards the next order. But in the meantime... I am stuck with three quarter pound burgers, three orders of cold fries, and three drinks. And other than the drinks...nothing taste good to me. So much for my adult "Happy Meal"... No joy in this experience. It will be a very long time before I will order something from McDonald's again.

Wow so sorry to hear about this sounds like McDonald’s has some people that need to learn how to do their job. And as for the guy that delivered the food he is sick in the head tonget out with no mask on I would report him for sure.

You're better off (if you're able) to go to McDonalds, yourself and order.

I am not able right now, which is why I had it delivered. I have used DoorDash several times when I order from Outback Steakhouse, and never had a problem. I realize the food trouble was not DoorDash's fault. But for the first delivery it was... Not again. The food did not even taste good like it used too.. Better off staying with the more high-end restaurants where the quality of food is better.

I'm not at all a fan of McDonalds. Too bad you didn't have a hungry homeless person handy.

Yeah... We have a place down the street that feeds the homeless two meals a day during the week, and once a day during the weekend. These aren't just sandwiches. Various churches volunteer their time to cook them a full hot meal, that usually includes a meat dish, sides, bread, and a dessert. Then they have some kind of juice to drink with their meal. Plus... They are given fruit to take with them. I know some people that work there, and sometimes the homeless will even get a steak dinner. It just depends what the volunteers want to cook. I know a lot of people who are not homeless, that don't have the money to eat like that... The homeless eat pretty well around here. The only one catch is...that they have to be actively looking for work. When they do this...the organization will help find them a place that they can afford to live, and then the organization will pay their first months rent, plus the deposits for their apartments, and to get their lights turned on. In the meantime... They help them get their social security cards, free phones, and other legal documents that they may need. They offer limited health and dental care. Plus... They are allowed to take one shower a day, and are given clean underwear, and other clothes that they need. On top of all this...they can also put in a request to have their laundry done once a week, which is usually done by staff or a volunteer. When it gets really cold, a few churches will open up their doors so they can have a warm place to sleep. The homeless are taken care of very well in our area. You don't see this happening in too many places. If the homeless doesn't want to abide by the rules...they are only allowed to eat there for six months. Then they are banned for one year. Once the year is up, they can come back after that and try again. They have to enforce some restrictions and/or conditions; or some of the homeless will never try to be an active vital part of society. They eat so well at this organization, many don't want to leave, or try to better their lives. People around this area are only homeless because they want to be, not because they have to be. There is help here if they want it.
