I got stabbed yesterday!

With a vaccination needle, that is. How's that for a clickbait title?
I had the first round of my Covid vaccine yesterday, the Pfizer one. From what I hear, this one may have fewer uncomfortable side effects than the Moderna one. Despite the long (yet socially distanced) line waiting to get the vaccine, it wasn't too bad.
The worst of it was when I woke up at 3am with a slight fever and a sore arm, but the fever was gone when I woke up again this morning. My injection site is less sore than it was in the middle of the night (and my sleeping on that side may have had something to do with that) and I have some general body achiness today, but I've had worse discomfort from other vaccines in the past.
My 2nd round is the day before Easter. Hopefully, that won't be too bad either... and then I can start planning to visit my out-of-state family!

@spiderdust I'm glad they've worn off.
I'm not getting it.

Except for the slightly sore shoulder, all of my side effects have worn off at this point.
I don't remember, did you have your vaccine already?

@spiderdust Same, but I've also heard that if you get side effects the first time, you're less likely to get any the second time. But no two people are the same. So, the good luck.

Me too! I've heard that the side effects are less pleasant with the 2nd one, but we'll have to see.

That's what I'm hoping people get from my post. I know that hearing about other people's experiences helped me feel better about getting it.

Most of them wore off pretty quickly. My shoulder is still a little sore if someone presses on it, but I'm sure that will go away soon.
Have you had your vaccine yet?

According to my Facebook timeline, it seems a LOT of people were able to get vaccinated this week! Who knew we'd be so excited about a vaccine?

@spiderdust Not yet. IN our town we started vaccinating last Thursday or Friday i think. They started with the front liners and then the senior citizens. Not sure I’m getting it.

@toniganzon I am technically a "front liner". No one else in my household qualifies for it yet.

I had heard that Pfizer had more side effects. I am not sure anyone knows for sure. Hubby got his second Moderna yesterday. His first side is still slightly sore but the site of the second one did not get sore at all. Thursday I will have my second Pfizer.

We'll have to compare notes! My brother is a geneticist and said that the Moderna had more side effects because it contains more mRNA than the other. I'm not entirely sure what that means, but it's the kind of thing he deals with at work.

Hopefully soon! We're still waiting to find out when the other adults in the house can get theirs.
