Amazing Transformation of Manila

I haven't stepped foot in Manila since 2015 (I think). I was amazed to see this amazing transformation which started only in 2018.
Especially in Manila Bay, which was covered by garbage for decades. My question is if this is accomplished in just three years, why wasn't it done decades ago by the previous administrations?
And it seems these accomplishments were not featured in the mainstream media?
The last time I heard about Manila bay is when the were complaints about the use of dolomite sand to create the artificial white sand in front of the beach. I was wondering what happened to it after a number of storms hit the country...
The 5 new Massive Developments and transformations happening in Manila Philippines has been in the trend since it was pushed and started by its new leader. ...

i was there in 2005 or maybe 2006 memory of the actual date is that it was December/January.
I was mostly at Subic, but wandered into the city a couple of evenings. I would love to see it again!

I am quite surprised how the rookie mayor of Manila, with the support of the current Administration, solved a problem that existed for over two decades or so.

@jrlcentral It is incredible to find a mayor that can make changes in a city like our Mayor Nik Hunter has been a light of hope when the two hurricanes hit Lake Charles.

I do agree. And despite all the 'hard-core' approach of this administration, which solicited criticism from almost every corner of the Globe, much has been accomplished since 2016 than the decade before.

Our beloved President has done many good things to Philippines especially in his BUILD, BUILD, BUILD, There are so many new bridges connecting far and wide in Philippine territory; likewise, domestic and international airports, ports and more .
