A Whole Lotta “If’s”

“If the dog hadn’t stopped to take a whiz he woulda caught the rabbit” as the saying goes.
I ibelieve everyone on this planet has at least one “if” or “would have” or “could” and I also imagine that most people have more than just one.
Beyond giving the example of the “Little Engine That Could” there are a lot of negatives and positives to one of the smallest but most prominent words in the English language.
If I had only or if I could have only or even, maybe if I just would have I could have .......!?
If I hit the lottery or if I get that job or if I hadn’t married that twit....
Personally, at my age the main “if” I have is if I wake up in the morning I might do this or that.
But then, to think of it, the most positive thing about the word is that it is always part of a dream. It’s part of the imagination and without “if”, we couldn’t imagine the goals let alone obtain them.
What are some of your “if’s, maybe’s or could have’s??

Most of my "what if, or If only' in this case have a lot to do with how I grew up with two challenging disabilities. I am both totally blind and also have Cerbal Palsy. Both of which affect me negativily.
If the school had allowed me to learn to read and write Braille at an early age, I might've had a better school experence overall. I may not have been so turned off to reading, and trying to get out as quickly as possible.
If I had gotten a wheelchair when I was younger, I might not be in the shape I'm in now. I might or might not be in less pain, and could have had a better quality of life.
I try not look back on the 'what'if's' in life. I try to be thankful that I have what I do now. For example, I can type a lot better than some students that I attended school with who've become to used to text-to-speach. Sure, I have trouble spelling a lot of words, but I can be pretty well understood because I can spell a lot of the more common ones. And, believe it or not, I've actually improved because I type so much.
So, maybe it wasn't so bad.

@Kayla Tsukino, you sound like an amazing person and I Love your attitude!
There are times when I reminisce and look back on the what if’s but then, if I had all the what if’s would I be the person I have come to be?
