Desert Town (Poem)

The place he’s from is called the River City,
Why that name is a mystery,
Unless it’s just for the irony,
There’s no river for miles,
as anyone can see
During the day everybody
does what they can
to beat the heat
but at least it cools down at night
& under the moonlight
that desert town sure is pretty
