when you hear a song what do you dig up first?is it the lyrics or the melody of the song.---mine is melody first..

Most songs it's the lyrics that grab me, but now and then (like the latest Kutless tune -- title is something about wings I think) it's the melody.

The first thing that I like about a song is the beat or melody. If it does not attact me, I am not likely to listen. But after that, I hear the words. If the words are a big turn off, regardless of the melody, I will not like the song.

Definitely the melody. Lyrics have never been my thing, and there are songs I've heard hundreds of times and still don't know the lyrics to.
