Not Eaten for Hours

Dinner

During my lunch today, it just came to my mind that I have not eaten for 18 hours. My last food yesterday was my dinner last night at 6 in the evening. Then my brunch at 12.30 noon. I was not even hungry but I ate my rye bread for brunch. It was the first time that I have noticed that long hours in between my dinner and my next meal. I have not eaten peanuts last night as I have eaten them all last week. I don't know if it is healthy but I can't eat when I am not hungry and I seldom eat snacks. How many hours is your interval from your dinner to the next meal? Thank you for reading. Have a nice Tuesday/Wednesday.

I don't think that it is good to have so many hours in between without food, how is your blood sugar?

@thelme55 If I wait too long before eating I get very shaky and nauseated

I think my blood sugar is good. I feel healthy. I have enough sugar when I drink creamy teas with sugar after sleeping. Thank you @marlina.

I just checked what the OMAD diet is and there is no way, absolutely no way that I would ever do that! @RebeccasFarm

@thelme55 Yeah. With my work schedule and sleep schedule, it does not leave much time.

My tummy feels uncomfortable if I don't eat. I generally have SOMETHING in the morning, even if I only graze. And I try to have lunch and dinner. So maybe 10 hours (mostly sleeping) is my max.

Mine hurts too when I don’t eat during the day @TheHorse but when I am sleeping which is mostly 10 hours maximum, I don’t get hungry when I wake up. Just 2 mugs of creamy tea with sugar after that and I am fine.

If I miss breakfast which I sometimes do, it would be only about 12 hours. 18 hours is a long time.

I usually eat something light about 9 am, a sandwich lunch and a more substantial meal about 6.30pm - 18 hours without food is a long time

Filipinos are used to eating merienda in between meals, unlike in other countries

Yes, that's true but not for me. When I was in the Philippines, I ate afternoon snacks as my nieces wanted some snacks. It was funny for me when my nieces told me that they were hungry again. They have just eaten their breakfast or lunch and hungry again. Thank you @sol_cee.

Was it intentional that you have let hours pass without munching anything? Could be psychosomatic. Are you on a diet? Are you depressed? Nourishment is a must. The body needs it.

Going 18 hours without eating is what I sometimes do intentionally to control my blood sugars.

I try not to go too long without eating and pretty much eat at the same time every day. The days I'm not very hungry I do have a little bit of something just to have something in my stomach

I eat about every 8 hours. That is probably best for your blood sugar.

Probably @LindaOHio. That 8 hours, I am sleeping then I usually don't eat after dinner which is about 4 hours before I go to bed.
