Are You the Stinker?

Was out in the great outdoors today and in my own backyard looking for signs of spring. I noticed my crocuses growing in the woods. I did not plant them in the woods. I noticed my 15 year old crocuses are not growing where I planted them. Some little stinker dug them up and planted them in the woods!

Stinkers - ah yes - I am familiar with them! Oh gosh, how far away are the crocuses from their original spot? At least they are growing somewhere - very pretty! In digging and weeding the yard lately, I have found a lot of whole hazelnuts and walnuts - I should have left them so we could grow nut trees .

I had walnut trees trying to start in my yard you wouldn't want any as the shoots keep trying to take over the yard and garden.

Nut trees sound good except for the mess they make. We have the same stinkers.

@DianneN Right . . . and it would give those stinkers a bigger reason to come to our yard - no thanks. I wonder if those stinkers would end up "replanting" the crocuses in the woods too ?

They are very nice looking crocuses, I remember back in my garden in Lavita the first signs of spring were these little blue flowers by my fence and then the tulips would pop up and I enjoyed how the garden looked,

Thanks. I haven’t seen these in 8 years due to being in Florida. They are a lovely sign of spring!

I believe the squirrels here decided to move them into the woods where they also moved some of my daffodils.

Thanks! I would prefer them in my garden. The woods is too far away for daily viewing. lol

I’m sure the squirrels did it. I saw broken tree nuts around it. Haven’t seen my crocuses in 8 years!

Possibly a squirrel did that. I do not have crocuses at this house, yet. Maybe I will get some planted. Pretty where ever they are planted and bloom.

Who would do that transferring your plants there? But I guess by the way that plant is blooming is just saying that they are happy where they are planted since they seemed to be in full bloom and are doing well already.

@DianneN I see I guess they transferred it to a place where the plant likes to grow.

They moved select daffodils into the woods, too. Squirrels are annoying little stinkers.

That's strange. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the seeds had found their way to the woods and grown but if your crocuses are gone from where you planted them that's a different matter.

I’m pretty sure the squirrels decided to do some landscaping of their own. They dug up a few of my daffodils. They are growing from the most odd spots in my yard.
