I gave in this evening and scored some Tom Kha Gai from my friend's Thai restaurant this late afternoon. It was delicious as always. Of course, I had rice (white) on the side. Else I'd be reading my entire Calvin and Hobbes collection tomorrow morning. What did yo have for dinner this evening (or yesterday evening, as the case may be)?

@TheHorse Sambhar is terrific with rice, with bread and little butter, with flat bread too. I like it. And pickle and rice are one reason I wouldn't leave my country. Imagine Vanny carrying six jars of pickles as a tourist to China since I cannot cross seas for obvious reason.

@vandana7 Is it a spice? I was reading about curries yesterday. There are so many variants! I think the article stated that it originated in some form or another in India 4000 years ago.

I had Bilo-bilo for dinner this evening. It is a Filipino snack cooked in coconut milk.

Yesterday night we had chapati, cauliflower peas curry and bittergourd fry. Here I am after a breakfast of cucumber and tomatoes sandwich. I will head to cook lunch in some time after mylotting and folding one load of laundry.. Planning to make something delicious for lunch today.

Do you use naan, some other Indian bread, or what I would call "regular" bread for your sandwiches? Your breakfast sounds refreshing. I had Thai soup tonight, but really miss my Indian dishes.

@TheHorse We baked the bread at home. The sandwich bread is like the bread that you use for your sandwiches. Other Indian breads like chapati, paratha, naan etc are different and you must be knowing them as you get in Indian restaurant.

I never had a red Tom kha gai, I always prepare (and like) the classic white one with coconut milk , galangal, kaffir lime, Thai chili, shiitake, chicken, and chilies. I made chicken fingers with home made tartar sauce for dinner.

My hunch is that the peppers rose to the surface. My Thai soup is "beige" in color when I stir it.

I love Thai food. We had Taco Bell - a burrito and pintos and cheese for me. I didn't feel like cooking because I was feeling sick so we just picked up something.
