I was awaken by a call this morning from somewhere in Germany. I didn’t answer it as I was still half asleep. It was an unknown number to me. After lunch and after showing the phone number to my husband, he told me that there is no code number of a place in Germany with 037. I checked the caller number and it stated that it was called from Saxony, Germany. I googled the code number in Germany but it showed up the small town Buipe, in the north of Ghana. „A proposed location of a cement work.“ I am glad that my instinct is working right and that I am suspicious when an unknown someone calls me. I knew it from the start that it was a scam. Have you received an unknown call lately? Anyway, I have blocked that number and then deleted it after my detective work. Thank you for reading. Good work! We get these calls all day! If it's an unknown number we do not answer. The darn phone rings all day

Thank you @db20747. Our landline is not registered on the telephone book and so we know who are calling us. We don’t answer an unknown call. I got the call from my IPhone this morning. Have a nice day.

Ohhhh, I hate getting such calls. I get so many calls from unknown numbers. Even if I block, I get the same calls from different numbers . . . it is truly a nuisance

Some days my phone rings over and over with those kind of calls. I never answer unless I know who it is. I thank whoever invented caller ID

That is more than I got, Sometimes, nobody calls us on our landline in a month. My son and friends contact us on our mobile phones or WhatsApp . Thank you @DocAndersen.

I doubt if that was from Africa. African countries their code start with +2 for instance for Kenya it's +254. If am not wrong for Ghana it's +233

I have been receiving calls from various numbers from back home too. I suspect though that some of them come from Globe which has always been bothering me that their workers would come to the house to change our modem though I have already told them several times that nobody is home. If I answered the call, I would incur huge overseas calls as mobile phone providers charge your for both incoming and outgoing calls when you're overseas.

@thelme55 You're welcome, Ms. Thelma. I also think it's best for you not to have a fixed internet plan because you don't stay permanently back home. As for me, I guess I have to bear with Globe because it's the same story with the other telco as I've heard from many. That's the problem in our country because, practically, we have a duopoly in the telco industry.

Globe is an annoying provider. I have terminated my Globe internet and phone on my house in Pinas and it was very annoying. No more internet in my house there but it’s Okay as it is cheaper to buy wifi load than having that Globe internet. I was really disappointed with it. Thank you @sunrisefan

Yes, maybe someone is trying to find out if you are at home or not @Hannihar. Our landline number is not registered in a phone book. We seldom got a phone call from our landline and if, it has a caller ID and we don't answer a phone whose number we don't know of. Thank you. Have a nice Easter.

@thelme55 Yes, I agree that someone wants to check to see if I am at home so if am they can bother me and mine is also private. The same one listens into my conversations and plays with the phone when i am on it and thinks it is cute or funny. I do not pay attention to the calls that much and I just finished the Jewish Holiday of Passover last night. I am Jewish and Easter is not my holiday. I hope you have a good one.
