April 1 - What I'm Thankful for Today

Today was a very good day. A no turning back day. I'm thankful for getting up early enough to get to the Y this morning for a good workout in the pool and fitness center. I made a breakthrough this morning. I was faster with my laps this morning. I also did better with my time on the elliptical and stationary bike. My distance on both was better than usual. I also did very well on the leg press. I did 50 reps with both legs, and 25 separate on each leg without feeling like I was pushing myself to get the last few reps. My legs are getting stronger. I'm thankful for getting the notifications finished twice and visiting with you. You always make my day better when I can be part of your day as you are part of mine. I'm thankful for getting the last closet finished. I also have all the garbage from all four closets out in the dumpster. No turning back. Next up are the drawers and cabinets. I'm planning to get rid of one filing cabinet in my office. We'll see. It might wait until I move. With everything I throw out, and clean, I see myself in my new apartment. I don't know when I'm going to move, but I'm planning on moving. The idea becomes more real every day. That's been my day along with watching my shows. Time for me to get to bed so I can get up early for the pool. It will be the first time I'll have gone to the Y five days in a row since I got isolation depression a few weeks ago. It feels good to be fully on track now. How was your day? What are you thankful for today? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

That sounds like a very productive day. I am glad you were able to go and get a workout in. Happy to hear your legs were stronger or are getting stronger I mean. I'm thankful that George seems happy today. While I don't expect it to last, him coming home in a good mood is always good. Even though I did freak out a little that he'd only gotten two days next week. He's going to get more though. So it's all good. I couldn't help but freak out a little. I know I shouldn't but... I can't help myself sometimes. The weather was cooler, but warmer than predicted so that's something to be thankful for. Last night we had a bit of a rain shower, and while Chilly did tense up, he seems to be doing okay so far. He hid for the last of it, but he's coming a long way so I'm proud of him for that. Even though it happened yesterday, it's something else to be thankful for.

I'm glad you know he'll get more hours. I'm glad Chilly is doing better in storms. Thank you. Today was good too.

@just4him I'm glad for both things, too. I don't think he'll get rid of his fear, completely. But, we can take a bath or shower and he doesn't run for cover.

@jstory07 No. The two bedrooms aren't covered under Housing. The best I can have is the one-bedroom with a den. It would be equal to what I have now and a little larger.

I do. We're under new management and things have noticeably changed. After reading on the site about what's expected with renting here, I decided to look at the senior apartments behind me. They have a lot to offer seniors and the apartments are a little bigger.

I think I am done with water aerobics until after I move. At least a year. The water aerobics class has been moved to a town that is about 45 minutes from my house. It runs from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Totally mess up my day. So scrap it though my body needs it.

Have you already a new place where to move? Are you moving because your apartment is too small?

I looked at a place, but no availability right now. I like where I am, but the management has changed and so have some of their policies.

@just4him It is a shame when the management changes and they change the policies. I think it's not correct, you sign a contract and both parties should agree for the changes.

@LadyDuck It's not so much the contract as the changes with maintenance. The grounds aren't being kept up as much as before. With winter just over, the sidewalks weren't maintained as well as in the past. They weren't safe and I needed to be very careful when walking out to my car. I can only hope things won't be bad going forward with lawn maintenance, but I'll know that when I see them for the first time, which I expect should be soon now that the snow is gone. Easter weekend is usually the first weekend for people to get their lawnmowers out. Easter is early this year, so no one has started mowing lawns yet. I need to sign a new contract in a couple of months. I'll know more about those changes. I expect there will be. However, I am on Housing, so I hope nothing will change in that regard. That's why I want to move. The senior apartments are a good choice, even if I can only get a regular one-bedroom. I know that will be smaller, but ultimately, it will be a better choice.

Sounds like a really good day there, with the progress with your exercise and with the cleaning. Spending time here too is great!
