Considering getting silver

For some reason I keep getting ads for silver coins on my Facebook. Which I can't totally figure what in my Internet activity would trigger these ads, I don't go looking for silver or anything related to it.
Anyway, I'm actually considering buying some silver coins, just because I think they look cool. I'm not one of these people who thinks you have to store up silver and gold in case there's an apocalypse, because to me it's absurd that people would still be thinking about money after the total destruction of the Earth.
At any rate, the coins look cool to me and I bet they have a nice "feel" to them; some of them cost around $10 a coin. I'm tempted to buy about 5 of them. And I guess they would have some value at some point, apocalypse or not.

When it comes to precious metals, I actually find silver to be a better investment than gold. I just like it. It holds value well, is not overly volatile like gold can sometimes be. It's not a bad investment even if your purpose for wanting some is not for investment purposes.
I do not own any precious metals outright, but I do invest in ETFs that trade in these sorts of things.

Silver will always have some value to it, so you can't go wrong.
