I'm doing the Vsafe check-ins

United States

Here in the US, the CDC is asking us to complete little daily questionaires about how we're feeling after the vaccine. I'm aware of how invasive people can find these little things, but I don't mind it. If it helps them provide accurate information, and if in anyway it helps someone decide to get the vaccine then I'll do it. But, how Am I feeling today? Well, I received the vaccine at 11 am yesterday. Yesterday I had a bit of soreness at first in the injection site, but that dissipated quickly. It reappeared last night. Today I have felt lethargic and sore. Sore at the injection site, but also body aches. My symptoms are pretty mild. I did have a headache but I've taken an aleeve and feel better. I received the J&J vaccine for those curious. I know there's still a lot of people reluctant and I respect that. I will say this one thing and then leave it at that. Every time we have a epidemic or pandemic there are people who do not trust the information they receive. This time is no different. Alright, there's my totally non-political opinion.

These are the same symptoms I had when I received two flu vaccines within a few days of each other. Went on a hike after the second one like a silly silly girl.

Congratulations on getting your vaccine. My wife is also participating in the VSafe thing. (She has had some ugly reactions to meds in the past but this vaccine just made her a bit itchy -- nothing that Benedryl could not take care of.) We got our second shots two days ago. And yesterday was I felt tired all day, but I was able to function mostly. Pain in the injection area was the major side effect for me. It is still a bit sore this morning but I am feeling good.

Yeah, the pain, some headaches and just feeling sleepy was my reactions too. I received the J&J one. My aunt, who received the same one, sweated profusely, had a headache and just felt cruddy. That was hours after she received it.

@cperry2 I have relatives and friends that are waiting to see how adversely it impacts everyone. One even said "as long as you don't keel over, I'll get it." My step cousin and her two young children suffered through the virus a few months ago. That is one reason why I got the vaccine.

@ScribbledAdNauseum we got the Moderna version. It was the one available on the day we were invited to come in. I think I am having difficulty in understanding those who are avoiding the vaccine. I understand reluctance for taking something new like this, but having witnessed my son get it and what he went through, there was never a question for me. Maybe when they see that those who have gotten it are okay and getting back to a 'normal' life, they will come around.

I have not gotten any Vsafe questionaire. I had Pfizer..a bit of soreness at the injection site, but I really only feel it if I touch it or lay on that arm. Same as the last time. The nurse who gave me mine said when she had her set of vaccines...she had no soreness the first time and lots of soreness the second..go figure.

Maybe they are only giving it out to Johnson & Johnson people? The pharmacist gave me the paperwork and explained about the Vsafe questionaire. I had to opt in to receiving questions. I think laying on it the first night (though I tried not to) attributed to a lot of the soreness the following day.

How are you today? I hope that those what you feel are gone by now. I read others feeling what you have mentioned here. We have never heard about the vaccine but have seen people being vaccinated in some places here.

I am feeling 100 percent better today. Yes, a lot of people are experiencing different things. I have no known health issues (other then perhaps high blood pressure).

Thank You! Today I am feeling completely fine. No soreness (only very very slight soreness if I move my arm). I need to check in on my aunt who had a worse reaction.

Hopefully the mistrust will be less soon. I have a friend of mine who isn't sure she'll get it. I believe it's highly likely she won't get it. Part of me wants to tell her how I've felt today etc, just to reassure her, but I don't believe it would do much good and I don't want her to feel pressured.

@CarolDM This is true. In this case, however, I believe shes' received other vaccinations with no issues. Oh well, it's not my choice and I'll support her in whatever she decides.

I understand. It's one reason why I am feeling these little questions out. I believe there was a lot of mistrust with the Johnson and Johnson vaccine especially.
