Traditional Mixer Grinder (70 years old)

We were cleaning the house yesterday and got this traditional Mixer Grinder. I asked my granny what is the age of this? She said, probably around 70 years old. Shared you the pic.

Long ago this was being used in my country too. This was brought here by indentured labourers from India. There is a museum here called Appravasi Ghat and there you will find all the stuffs brought in my country by these people.

@Lignitecityabishek96 I agree. Instead of using the grinder my grandmother likes to grind her spices manually on what we call a grinding stone. The taste is unique especially when you are using this in a curry or to make pickles

Interesting! Here many families still uses these traditional method of cooking. We can feel the unique taste when prepared in traditional method.

Wow, that sure is an antique. I don't think anyone use it anymore. Did you try to move it? Is it still usable?

Actually, we had two sets. One belongs to great grand mother era and another one belongs to grandmother era. We donated one to nearby poor. Still few people from villages are using this.

I too have it, but at present no one is using it, Before 30-40 years when we have not electrical grinder then we used it for milling.

It was around 70years old. It belongs to my great great grandmother. Don't know the exact age but surely 70+.
