Is it true that freedom is expensive?

Seeing the current political conditions in Myanmar, I am very sad and happy. It is sad that the people of Myanmar are now struggling to risk their lives and their families for just one word, Freedom. Meanwhile, I feel happy because in my country today I can enjoy freedom properly without being afraid of the threat of terror. Now I realize that freedom is very expensive, even though it is a human right from birth. What do you think?

I have the reputation here in mylot of being too serious. I truly can't be happy when someone is suffering. What is happening in Myanmar is heart wrenching. Freedom should never be earned from the lives of the nation's own people. The military junta is ruthless. The are ruling on the blood of martyrs across the nation.

@Babale Situation in Myanmar has gotten worse. I think even the Gen Zee and the millennials have now gone training to give the junta a fight.

In America, the saying is "Freedom Isn't Free"; and we remember the veterans who lost their lives in military-operations affirming the freedom of all our fellow country-people.

In my country (Luxembourg) we also have freedom and I'm very glad about the fact that we are so multi-cultural. In our country something like this could't happen because we don't even have a real military. I am not sure if there a a lot of countries without freedom but I wish all the best for the people living in Myanmar and fighting for their rights.

My country is also multicultural consisting of many ethnicities. I am also grateful that until now the peace in our place is relatively stable, even though there have been small eruptions in some areas that are still having problems with security, such as Papua. But in general it is very good.
