Sometimes you feel irritated when you don't get what you want. You tried to make things happen, but at the end of the day it seems like nothing is working. You have plans on that day but there are hindrance that makes you upset.
What if God purposely did it to save you from harm? You have to think that way instead of complaining and blaming why your plans failed.
Trust in God's way for He knows what's ahead. He will do something just to stop you from doing your plans because He knows what's best for you.

... if that's what you need to tell yourself until you figure it out ...
Meanwhile, God's instructions to Man were to "Hold dominion." Or did he ever say, 'No, wait; give Dominion back!'?? https://www.jcblog.net/hebrews/2/5-8/authority-and-dominion-was-transferred-to-satan-during-the-fall

Yes, we have no direct total control over our lives.
We must do our best, and let God do the rest, as the old saying goes.
All fits into God's plan, in one way, or another.
Trusting that God knows best, is a good way to overcome the doubts about the way that we think that our lives might be going.
