We in India have been sleeping, slumbering and looking this way and that, misled by mis-leaders but the hugely worrisome situation is slapping our cheeks apparently in vain. The corona condition in the nation must shake leaders and people alike to wake up and tackle the second wave on war footing. We are fighting elections, joining rallies and listening to our favorite orators, rubbing shoulders with our comrades, without safety masks and taking faith inspired dips in the holy waters in hordes. We are religious people you know. Holding our religious nose anyone can lead us to any dark forest without being questioned. And so here we are. We are reaping what we sowed. Daily count of infection is about 100,000. We are world leaders on this point. The burning ghats and crematoriums are loaded with mulplied work! We have sad memories of the 2020 lockdown, It appears we are hurtling towards another unfortunate one. But the announcement will definitely wait until the state elections are fought, won and opponents are vanquished. But by then the situation will have gone quite out of hand!

No. You are not the hundreds-of-thousands; you are 'you-and-yours.' Just 'monitor & maintain your little section of the wall,' and trust that everyone who matters will do the same thing. And let the mass population either do like you do or pass on in their way.

Stay safe there. I think we're almost at the fourth wave here. I hope it doesn't come to that.

Viruses can't be 'fought' with politics. They need to do what it is they do and run their course.
