Wanting to know your opinions. My Golden Retriever who i had since i was a kid passed on a little over a year ago and it still hurts. I only have a kitten now but i was wondering if any of you have bought a new golden puppy and if that helped to ease the pain or not? Do you feel like it is betrayal? i feel that my dog would be flattered to know that he made such a good impression on us that we would buy another baby. How do you feel?

having a new puppy is help alot to ease a bit of your pain of losing your old one because you'll be busy with the new puppy and little by little its help you to reduce the pain.so i suggest you to get the new one

A new puppy may ease the pain but it still is not the same. Could be the same if you do not name him/she the same as you late passed one because it will always remind you of him/her. Time heals all wounds.

I think it could. When people have pets, they tend to get into a routine (feeding time, walking, etc) and the loss affects them the most whenever they no longer have that routine. My parents had to have their cat put to sleep after having her for 15 years. It didn't affect my mom until she got up and the cat wasn't meowing for her breakfast.

After I put my cat to sleep (because she was very sick) I got a new kitten. I was still sad about my old cat, but having a kitten made me feel so much better! I would imagine it would be the same for a puppy.
