Do you assume the worst of people? Or try to have faith in them?

I have to admit that I always assume the worst of people. I try not to, I really do but I think it's part of who I am.
Experiences shape us and mine have shaped me into a chunky little cynic. I wish I could have more faith in people and think that everyone is good and decent.
Do you think people are generally good or that most people are just jerks?

I usually see the best in people, but then if they let me down i lose faith in them.

That's only fair. A person can only take so much.

That's understandable, it's not a nice way to live.

It depends. There are people that I can`t trust right away. It is not easy to trust people nowadays

That's true, people aren't just one way or another. They're a mixture of many things.

Humans are only human.
Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's a jerk.
Even terrorism, will be considered good and meritorious by people who have one value with them.
a corruptor commits corruption for his family. It means he is good for his family but not a corrupt person.
Just like robinhood, people who think good people who are being helped, people who think bad people who take their property.
Have fun and be yourself.

I see what you mean, it can be a grey area. It's all about context and perception.

@Lindalahughes Yes, that's right, but I think we have to put our conscience first to judge someone

That's fair. You give them a chance and it's their fault if they ruin things.

My husband is like you, although he sees it as being a realist. I tend to think the best until I'm proved wrong.

That's a good call, you only get to make one so people need to make it good!

I'd like to think people are generally good and mean well, and that sometimes it's just a case of miscommunication or being totally unaware you said/did something. I mean, wouldn't you want to be given the benefit of the doubt, too, and in some cases, a second chance?

Yes I suppose I would, but I know if I acted like a jerk I wouldn't deserve one.
