Our grandson has a genius IQ and does very well academically. However, he got sick of online school, so had some fun with it.
One time he pretended to choke on a carrot and pass out on the floor.
Another time, he pretended to be kidnapped and thus not viewable online.
He pretended to suddenly lose his sight and hearing.
The list goes on........
In any event, his teachers did not think it was funny.
So, for the last five weeks, Mom or Dad drive him to school in Manhattan from New Jersey and pick him up. It’s an hour round trip.
He’s much happier being with his friends, and today is play in the park day after school with his best friend. I just hope neither breaks his neck doing backflips off the big rocks.
Next year, he will be attending school in New Jersey.

It is difficult to have an IQ above normal. Teachers don´t understand.

Oh wow, that is a trip. My younger nephew has tested as gifted, and if anything the older one is even smarter. Their parents would have killed them though if they started acting up in school, cyber or otherwise.

@DianneN It is funny...but...glad everyone is happy. If I was mom or dad wouldn't be thrilled with more work as in drop off, pick up added to my day.

As it turns out, my daughter-in-law has been busy working in New York again with her business and taping programs for lactation instruction. My son stops by his office to check in, so at least it's been working out a few days of the week. My DIL told me they haven't been late to school once. lol

Kids today. If you ask me, it would've been easier to bring up his concerns with his parents, rather than act up.

I'm not surprised. The fun wore off. Kids need their socialization. My granddaughter is doing online schooling at the ice rink. She at least gets to see her friends every day. My poor grandson didn't get to see anyone unless he had hockey practice or games on the weekends.

That is terrible he did all that he must have been bored with the virtual schooling and wanted to go back.

I don't feel so embarrassed, about what Zachary did. As a college freshman, he purchased an old convertible. To impress some girls, he squealed the tires and did some extremely dangerous spinouts So who was there to see Zack's escapade? A policeman Our grandson landed his butt in jail for five days! A kid who had never been in trouble?

@kobesbuddy My boys fessed up as adults to the things they did that we weren’t aware of at the time. Things are still coming out.

@DianneN I remember when Chad was growing up, I thought he was fine. Later on he said, 'Mom, you just didn't know about some of the antics, Steve(best friend)and I were pulling!' My daughter was like an open book, she couldn't hide anything!

@DianneN i was the school clown all the way through school. I had many opportunities to cause trouble. my last principal was shocked when I became a teacher.
then he said "i suspect you know what the kids are doing before they do it."

Online school makes students feel bored and it really makes the eyes tired easily, I hope this situation can be controlled, and the corona can be resolved as soon as possible so that children can go to school, at least when they return to school they can meet their friends, because of this. What the children miss most is not lessons but playing with friends at school, your granddaughter is very funny and amazing, I am sure she is the most popular figure in her school

I agree! My grandson spent an entire year online and in a new home in a different state where he didn’t have friends. Now, he’s happy again to be at school and seeing all the kids.
My granddaughter loves her online school. She does most of her work at her skating rink. She’s there every week day from 8 to 5. She gets her coaching and practicing done and gets to see her skating friends. Thanks so much. She’s always been popular because of her personality and compassion for others.

The socialization should be good for him; and hopefully he won't act up in class.

It seems they are not afraid of contracting Covid and prefer meeting their friends at school rather than studying online. Here it is just the opposite, we have started studying directly at school because it has been studying online for more than a year. If I'm not mistaken, it's the Ice Princess eating the chips?

He goes to a private school. They had the money to put in ventilation systems and covid proof the school. It’s been open all year, but his family chose the online option for him. They were concerned about covidiots. He’s happy back in school and seeing his friends.
Yes, that’s her!
