Sexism was alive and well back in the 70s

I came across this weathered piece of cardboard today. It was written by our younger son who would have been at school but probably only about six years old.
He and his friend formed a ‘club’ and tacked this sign up on our verandah. As I remember, the two boys didn’t want any girls in their club. The red writing on the sign has almost completely faded but it says: The rules. No girls age 4 to 6. No 3 wheelers (this was about their bikes – the boys had two-wheeled bikes) Signed Damian E.
The club lasted about two days then the girls were allowed back in again. Don’t you just love kids? lol

That is hilarious. I'm glad they allowed girls back in after a few days, though.

@DeborahDiane @JudyEv Well, somebody had to cook our food and clean our house.
So, I guess divorcing my wives was where I went wrong.

@JudyEv - Yes, guys need us, don't they? Even when they are young, they learn that pretty fast!

Kids will be kids as they say. My brother used to say he was never getting married! Now he's married with twin boys!

@JudyEv Indeed, that's true. My brother also said he wanted to be an inventor when he grew up. He ended up being an accountant!

I wonder it only lasted for two days. Did the girls insisted to join?

Such sweet memories.
When I worked in a Montessori environment, I had so many such funny incidents happening on day to day basis. It was fun to be on job. That age group is so innocent and so fun

My very best friend as a boy across the road and he never said for me not to be there we got along very well and his sister who was a bit younger than me.
I wonder if your two remember that one?
All children are very special in their own way.

How lovely. He kept saying that I was cleverer than his sister but I defended her so he gave that one up.
