Sexism was alive and well back in the 70s

I came across this weathered piece of cardboard today. It was written by our younger son who would have been at school but probably only about six years old. He and his friend formed a ‘club’ and tacked this sign up on our verandah. As I remember, the two boys didn’t want any girls in their club. The red writing on the sign has almost completely faded but it says: The rules. No girls age 4 to 6. No 3 wheelers (this was about their bikes – the boys had two-wheeled bikes) Signed Damian E. The club lasted about two days then the girls were allowed back in again. Don’t you just love kids? lol

@shaggin It's quite good, isn't it? But he couldn't have been very old.

Damian turns 47 in August. And I've kept this all that time. It's just been tucked away of course with other papers and documents.

I wouldn't be surprised if little boys still want exclusive clubs that exclude girls ..... or little girls that want exclusive clubs that exclude boys.

@DeborahDiane @JudyEv Well, somebody had to cook our food and clean our house. So, I guess divorcing my wives was where I went wrong.

Kids will be kids as they say. My brother used to say he was never getting married! Now he's married with twin boys!

Were older girls allowed? Boys did not want to have girls around until they became teenagers.

My very best friend as a boy across the road and he never said for me not to be there we got along very well and his sister who was a bit younger than me. I wonder if your two remember that one? All children are very special in their own way.
