Derek Chauvin GUILTY

It's about time there's some justice done for a black person needlessly killed by an "over zealous" cop! I had a good feeling about the verdict when it came down so soon after going to the jury because legal experts generally agree that's often a sign of a guilty verdict but given how these things have been going I was afraid to feel too confident about it but thankfully there were 12 people on that jury that took it very seriously and followed the evidence.
I have to admit I actually cheered when Chauvin was handcuffed and immediately taken out of the courtroom.
I'm sure there will be some here that disagree both with me and with the verdict, and that's fine. I just hope we can discuss it respectfully. I admit I can be opinionated but I also always try not to offend and I'm always willing to look at and listen to all sides of an issue so I hope we can keep this friendly like myLot intends for us to do.

I doubt you'll find many people on here who would disagree with you. No one's trying to make an argument that what Dark did wasn't wrong. Some might try to claim it was George's own fault for being as high as a kite, but at the end of the day... someone's going to go to jail like they rightly deserve.

I am past the point all they do is purposely offend me, but do not want to ruin your post. I agree the longer they take the more likely we about to see a killer get set free. This was refreshing to see but now they saying this is going be the standard of proof you need to get a corrupt racist cop murderer put in prison. I hope not its easy to see, they must really hate to lets this kind of behavior go on.

I agree. How many more cases like this one have there been and will there be that weren't caught on video? Can we really trust that the individual police forces will actually release recordings that tell the entire true story? In this case we can be very thankful for that young girl that recorded the whole horrible incident.
I think that got to me the most was looking at the expression - or LACK thereof - on Chauvin's face as the life slowly and tortuously drained from George Floyd. He obviously did not care that it was an actual human being he was murdering. I only wish they'd have gone for first degree murder.

@KristenH Thanks, I'm good now. My glasses aren't the greatest but I have to wait a few weeks before I get new ones because my vision will supposedly and HOPEFULLY improve even more. NOW I have my hip replacement next week to get through and hopefully I'll be "good as new".

Oh good he was found guilty. But apparently from memory out of the 40 years he will most likely only do 15
