3.85 miles

Today, while walking, I decided I would like to walk 20,000 steps per day for five days. I was bad this weekend and did a bit of cheat eating.
I'd like to lose some stubborn belly fat. I am considering HIIT workouts too (High intensity interval training). 3.85 miles is the route I mapped out for myself. It doubles back on a road or two, and it should provide me with 20,000 steps if not more.
Pictured is yarn I bought today. This will be turned into a lovely flowy beach cover up.

@RebeccasFarm Stress can be such a motivation deterrent. With bodies and mind linked, it can be maddening to get the results you want.

That sounds like a great challenge, and if that route works out for that then that is awesome!

I actually went off the route a little bit. It probably would have gotten me closer had I stayed on it, but I wanted to work my thighs so went up steeper inclines. I plan to walk another road soon that connects back to the main road of my neighborhood. It has a bit of an incline and decline.
Have you had time to workout lately?

@ScribbledAdNauseum Well I think that still sounds like a good walk/work out even though you didn't stay on it. And walking daily/that much is awesome!
I haven't been working out, sadly. I noticed my sugar was spiking super high, so decided I would wait till my sugars starting coming down (at least to under 150). I haven't got back on track yet either though with eating.

@MommyOfEli2013 It's such a struggle! I really admire people in countries where there main mode of transportation is by foot or by book. They stay so much healthier than we do.

Wow, that will be tiring! I hope it does the trick, if not, at least you will be getting in great shape! Remember muscle weighs more than fat.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Roomie has a cool high tech one. As far as I know though it just calls out the weight.

I want to get one of those scales that differentiates between body fat and muscle weight.

I want to get one of those scales that differentiate. It will probably be one of my amazon gift card purchases when I've accrued enough.

I found a work out for arms without weights. I will try this first and then work to increase this later. There is a gym called Planet Fitness. it is in an inconvenient area, but it's also only $10.00 a month with a lot of perks. I may join it for a few months.

@LadyDuck I meant to look for weights when I was at the store earlier. Or maybe I should call my brother in law and ask for my sister's as she does not use them anymre.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Lifting weights it's not for the arms, it is for the belly fat.

Nope, I've been slacking on the steps department. Hoping to get back to it soon though.
I'm making a swimsuit cover up with that green now.

@Nevena83 It isn't easy to persist, nor was it easy to get started. I'm happy because over the weekend, even though I ate unhealthy foods, I had guilt over it. I knew I should have stayed on my diet and eating healthier.

I am eager to achieve these goals, though I know they won't be easy. Even if I go nowhere this summer, I want to have the body and confidence.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I am afraid to because we live in such a wooded area.

Very true. The only area I really need to worry about that is around the creek paths. The rest of the neighborhood is too congested. Not saying they won't sneak out, but it's less likely.

@popciclecold I understand. We have woods behind our house and I won't go behind the house because of that. Lots of places for the snakes to hide.

Incorporating HIIT workouts into your walking is a great idea. I used to work for a food delivery company and would walk anywhere from 10k-30k steps per day along with 10-40 flights of stairs daily and it did almost nothing for my belly fat. Belly fat is so stubborn lol however, I think with HIIT workouts can be done. Good luck!

@ScribbledAdNauseum lol that is good logic. There are so many workouts now that I am sure you will find one that works for you.

@zukichucha You're right! It's crazy how many there are. I can't remember the channel name, but I did follow a woman for a while who tried all the different diets and work outs to lose weight. I don't know how she did it because that seems like a lot of flip-flopping, but she lost weight with them.

Yes, belly fat is the most stubborn of all. My friend is doing HIIT at the gym and she'll keep me posted on how it's helping her. A lot of my fat is concentrated around my midsection, so I feel like toning my arms and legs will help eventually drive the fat loss to my belly. (if I have no fat on my arms and legs than there won't be any to burn there and it will have to go to my belly is my logic)

I need to fast more. I did a fast this morning. I can't remember what it is called, but it is basically a pre-workout fast. I had a protein shake but no solid foods.

Nice color yarn can’t wait to see the finished product. I hope once you start doing your walking route you get your 20,000 steps in. I hear good things about those HIIT videos I wish you well with them.
