When people ask me for an advice, I give them what I think of "ideal" but have to tell them what is realistic. And it is hard to give advice when I haven't gone through the same situation.
But, at the end of every advice I will always tell them, at the end of the day, you know what is the best. I will let them decide for themselves, give them the freedom, to weigh things, think things thoroughly.
Yes, I can give options but choosing will always be on their hands.

I often refrain from offering advice if I'm not familiar with the situation. And, you're right. All you can really do is offer options, the choices are the person's to make.

Same thing. I usually add, 'i do not know though...' just so I'm not accountable if something goes wrong.

I told them that I am not good in this area. But would say, based on experience, here's what I did. How about you, do you think it will work with you? Or I will ask the person what he will do.

@Lucky15 I hope they will get into it. We should not give them what to do. People should realize how they will do it on their own. So that it will not sound as if I am telling them what they should do.
