Just call me Willie Nelson, ‘cause I’m on the road again! I had an antibody test (still positive for those, thank God), and now I’m eating lunch and ready to go east or southeast or south or southwest or west or....well, you get the idea. Meanwhile, here’s my favorite tune with “old” in the title. #1: Old Dan’s Records - Gordon Lightfoot I guess I should put a “country music advisory” up instead of a country music warning for this one. It has a country flavor to it, but the idea of a country song celebrating “the foxtrot, jitterbug, and jive” just doesn’t set right. No, you don’t remember this one. It was nestled between “If You Could Read My Mind” and “Sundown,” so it got squashed by those two big hits. That’s a shame, because the idea of “danc(ing) all night to the 78s” just warms my heart. And let’s face it, “Old Dan’s Downloads” just has a hollow ring to it. “There’s a smile on old Dan’s face” when the old records are played. A smile on my face, too. Thanks for reading.
