One day at a time. One foot in front of the other.

Now that we have achieved "full immunity" with our vaccines we have been venturing out again. Yesterday, my wife and I went looking for a new car, just to find that the dealers have very limited stock. We went to one place that advertised a vehicle that had not even arrived at their lot and would not for a week or so. (We drove 2 1/2 hours to test drive it) To me, this is a deceptive practice and I doubt I will ever return to that dealer. Most of the salespeople we saw followed the covid rules but one who worked at a Ford Dealership really irritated me. He wore the mask when we were greeted but when we got back from the test drive I realized he had pulled his mask below his nose. Meaning he was putting us at great risk inside that car. Had I seen him do it I would have said something. Even though we have been vaccinated, and we have waited the 14 days as suggested. we can still get the virus. And the Oregon county where this man worked has been hit pretty hard. Some people just do not seem to get the message. They think they can do things any way they want and there will be no consequences. I suppose if we get into the car with another salesperson, I need to lay down the guidelines and demand they follow them. Sad, in a sales position, you must treat your customer with respect, and in this world and in this environment, ( a raging pandemic) that means following the rules when you are with a prospective client. For him, the sad thing is, my wife liked the car. That's sad because due to his behavior, we will not buy it from him, or his dealership. Photo is mine.

I hate that mask below the nose thing, But now the CDC and Gov. Kate too, have confused the whole issue with new rules that (as I understand it) that masks are not needed if you are fully vaccinated, except in schools, on buses or planes. What will businesses do now?

@cperry2 So was everyone here at the Bi-Mart pharmacy and Market of Choice we went to. I guess Trader Joe's will no longer require masks. We have one here in Eugene that I like a lot.

@JamesHxstatic I'm starting to see some people without masks inside stores. I am still avoiding them. I saw a cashier at a Thriftway store without a mask. I went to a different line. I guess I am a bit paranoid but I will come around in a while. We are about to make a trip to California, it will be interesting to see what we find there.

Really? Full immunity? The body already had it's immunity. What is the name of the vaccine you took?

That is why I put full immunity in quotes. It is as close as anyone is likely to get at this point. I took the Moderna Vaccine and am very happy that I did. I am very much a believer that we all need to get vaccinated. I realize some will disagree, that is their choice, and what falls on them, if anything, is also up to them.

@mildredtabitha To each his own. As I stated, I am happy I got the vaccine. I hope everyone will. For those who choose not to, I offer my sincere wishes for good health. But should they come down with the virus, I hope they remember they could have taken steps to prevent it or at the very least reduce the severity of it.

I've been the same, with the vaccine I am trying to get back to the world. But that situation at the car dealer really concerns me. I spoke with the sales manager this morning about it and he will be talking to the salesman.

People don't always appreciate or think about those they come in contact with. Even if they are happy with masks below their noses, it doesn't mean everyone else is happy with it.

And you are right about that. we found out yesterday that the county where this dealer is located has been pushed to the extreme risk category. With the laxity of following guidelines I've witnessed there, I can see why.

We are trying to be as safe as possible. I was shocked by the person's seeming disregard about the mask but, as you say there are a lot of them out there. And then they will wonder how they got sick if it happens to them.

First, I love this pic. It looks like a tree in the middle of the dessert or very hot place. I find it very frustrating to know that they sell cars that will not come in a week time lol. As for the mask, that person is very insensitive.

Thanks and you hit the nail on the head, the tree is on a ranch in the high desert. I went there with a photography class.. It does get very hot there and I was surprised to see such a tall tree. As for the rest, Car dealers are not known for going out of their way to be honest. Getting people in the door is their main concern. And they cannot monitor their sales people all the time especially when one goes on a test drive. I spoke with the man's manager this morning and he will be talking to the salesman involved. I don't like being a ttattle tale but dang it this covid thing is not somehting to take lightly.
