So a few weeks ago my dad had knee replacement surgery. It was successful, but he was left in tremendous pain. Until two nights ago he only got four hour of sleep per night. They gave him pain medicine, but it just didn't work for him. During the day he said he was mostly fine, and physical therapy was really helpful, but at night his wife said all he could do was moan.
His at home physical therapy is over now, so he'll be hobbling to physical therapy at a regular building now. I was worried how he'd do with being housebound, but he's had dozens of visitors come and check on him. I think he misses church the most. He's pretty fast on his walker too.
Do you like visitors?

@AmbiePam No, there are just not enough to go around.
Yesterday they announced that in our province they will be opening appointments for anyone over the age of 18 by the end of May. Today I can book appointments for my hubby and I. When I read that on the website last evening I literally started crying tears of happiness.

I am sure he'll be happy to get back to his congregation. I'm glad he's doing better. Would he have gone to a temporary rehabilitaiton center if it weren't for COVID?

No. I think since he had someone to help him they felt comfortable letting him go home after one night in the hospital. Looking back he wishes he'd stayed longer because of the pain and no sleep (the night in the hospital they gave him something that put him to sleep), but when they told him he could go home, he went. He found out later one of his friends had it and stayed three nights in the hospital, and another stayed five nights. All they did was sleep.

@AmbiePam Ah, well I understand why he'd want to go home too. We always feel more comfortable in our own bed. I hate he was in so much pain though.

I hope he recovers soon.. it really depends on who visits.

Glad to hear he's getting better. And, no, not really. I don't.

I do but we don’t get that many. We live kind of out in the country

Usually my relatives and myself like to keep to ourselves. However the visitors that we have inside our home are usually the handyman or a repair person.

I can sympathize with your father. I've had one knee and one hip replaced. I was lucky that I didn't have much pain when I was stationary. I would like to have more visitors. My friends live out of state and out of the country. Have a great day. Sending positive, healing thoughts to your dad.

It's good he loves church. Visitors are good. They really care for him and they want him to know that. The Bible says we should visit the sick
