anyone been to new orleans, louisiana since hurricane katrina?

i have always wanted to go to new orleans, louisiana but not for mardi gras. i would like to visit new orleans to be able to experience real southern food. i love cajun food, and there are not many restaurants in the midwest that serve very good cajun.

I bet alot of the restaurants have not reopened. it is horrible what that hurricane did to the city. before hurricane katrina, i did not realize that there was so much poverty there.

i went to new orleans, thanksgiving weekend. The city is building back. It's worth the trip, although i'm used to going, i'm from baton rouge, we're only a hour away.

you must get to enjoy the southern food quite often. i wish i lived that close to new orleans.
