One of Those Phone Calls

My good friend that lives in another state called me just now. We have been friends since kindergarten. We got caught up on each other's news.
She also told me about a classmate that took his life last week. So very sad. I was good friends with him.
After graduating I would go back to visit and he was always with my other friends. He married and had children. A good guy for sure.
He went turkey hunting. Came home and took his life. That is all anybody knows.
You just never know what is going on in someone's mind. Very sad. Another reason I always say to treasure the little things in life. And appreciate the ones you have in your life as well. We never know what the next day may bring.

It's always very sad when someone choses to go down that path. I wish him and his family the best.

I am so sorry to read about the loss of your friend. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends far and wide.
And you are correct about never really knowing what is on another person's mind. My paternal great-aunt married when she was sixteen, and her groom was eighteen. They had five children together and had recently celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary when he held her at gunpoint for twenty-four hours, then took his own life.
I was eleven at the time and never asked anyone if they knew why he did it. But, I remember that it upset us all, especially since he held Aunt Betty at gunpoint for so long, then killed himself in front of her.
I believe Billy Joel's "The Stranger" is about infidelity. But it is understandable why some believe it is about "the real you."
Well, we all have a face
that we hide away forever.
And we take them out
And show ourselves when everyone has gone.
In 1977, Billy Joel released his album titled The Stranger. Listen to Billy Joel perform the title track off the album, 'The Stranger'.http://smarturl.it/BJ_...

I am so so sorry about the loss of your friend and you are so right that we do not know what goes on in People's minds and why they would take their own life. Something must be going on. I am glad that your friend connected with you but so sorry she had to bring you such sad news.

I am terribly sorry to read this and can relate to your post personally. About one year ago now, I learned from a facebook post that a girl whom I grew up with, spent a lot of time with in the summer as a kid and attended school with on a daily basis, took her own life. There was very little information provided and even her close family really had no idea that she was in such a rough place mentally. It was a huge shock to all her knew her personally and so heartbreaking. Life is truly a blessing and you just never know what may happen!
