May 5 - What I'm Thankful for Today

Happy Cinco de Mayo to everyone celebrating today.
It's been a good but different day today. When I think everything is going along smoothly, something happens to put a bump in the road. I didn't make it to the pool this morning due to a bad headache again. Then I talked to my son. He informed me he just tested positive for COVID-19. Since I've seen him in the past two weeks, I need to get tested too. My test is tomorrow morning.
So, what am I thankful for today?
I'm thankful I'm still feeling good. I don't have any symptoms but headaches, so I'm hoping for a negative test tomorrow.
I'm thankful I found out before my hair appointment today so I could cancel it.
I'm thankful for the work I did on Vendetta and Ecstacy. I know what I want with Vendetta, but getting from where I'm at to the end is proving difficult, but that's today. I'm sure it will sort itself out soon. In the meantime, I need to work on Ecstacy, a finished novel and one that will be published one day, but I don't know when. After Vendetta, I'll be working to publish Where Eagles Soar. I need to work on that one too to get it ready to publish. I'm not at a loss for books to get ready to publish or finish.
I'm thankful I talked to my son. With his forced time off, he's working on the cover for Vendetta. His girlfriend also tested positive, so they're working on it together. He told me he changed it up a little bit and told me about it. I love it. I can't wait to see the finished cover.
I'm thankful for a beautiful day. When I went to Walgreens earlier, I found it very pleasant. We're in the 50s today.
Okay, that's my day. I hope you're all doing well. What are you thankful for today? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

You are so wonderful that you can be positive and grateful, even though your son has tested positive for Covid and you may have been exposed. I hope you all recover well. I am grateful for the vaccine. Everyone possible in my family, including my husband, me, our four daughters, our son-in-laws and our four oldest grandchildren have all been vaccinated, and I feel so much better about our safety. Hugs to you, and hope you all do OK.

@just4him - I hope you will get vaccinated soon. Even if you survive this scare, Covid will continue to cause outbreaks across the country. I hope the rest of your family will consider getting vaccinated soon, too. Covid is much more dangerous than the vaccine.

@DeborahDiane I'm not getting vaccinated. I doubt anyone else in my family is either. I'm aware COVID will be with us from now on like the flu. I can't have the flu shot. I've had the flu so seldom, even with everyone around me getting sick with it. I'm not worried one way or the other. I know my God is still on the throne taking care of me.

Good luck with that Covid test. Good thing you're in contact with your son.
I'm thankful that I survived another hot day. I'm thankful I got the cat bowls clean and the stuff I wanted done there. Forgot to tell George I wanted Orange juice, but he always calls before he comes home, so I'm sure I can tell him, then. This cold is about gone. so that's something else to be thankful for.

I pray that you don’t test positive for Covid. I still shudder from thinking about my own Covid experiences.

@moffittjc Yes. My son should be back to work today. He had a home testing kit to test first before he started work again.

Yikes that is worrisome about Covid. It doesn't sound like anybody is too ill though which is a blessing. I was thankful that I got the mortgage paid early this month..and was able to have a nice lunch, and also that we didn't have any damage during the big windstorm yesterday.

Thank you. I hope it isn't bad for them or me if I test positive. I'm hoping I don't.
I'm glad you have your mortgage paid early. That's always good. I'm happy to hear you didn't have any damage from the windstorm. I'm glad you had a good lunch.

@Marilynda1225 Yes, we do. Looks like I need to go to the bank and get quarters to do laundry. At least I know I can get it done tomorrow. I can also take the clothes to church on Sunday for the rummage giveaway next Saturday.

It's also good that you didn't make it to the pool too with at least until you find out the test results. I certainly hope you rest negative. Have you had your vaccines yet, Valerie? If so that might mean it won't last as long in your system of your do have it but it could be a bit intense.
I didn't realize your had so many books waiting for final touches for publication.
I'm thankful I'm going to the wound center today even though I know it might really hurt a while once I'm done.
I'm thankful I get to visit my grandbaby again. I've not seen him since his birthday party a month ago. The visit should help me take my mind off the wound.
I'm thankful I got the laundry started and my husband is picking up supper at the store today.

@just4him I wasn't getting your first sentence but you're saying the email said you were negative for covid-19 then? That's great.

I just checked my e-mail. It's negative.
Yes, I have over 50 titles. Of those, I have 16? finished and ready for publication. I need to go back and look at the number of finished titles I have.
That's great you can see your grandbaby again. Happy Birthday to him.

I am thankful for the reward that I received from the Sony Jeopardy site for a $5 dollar gift card from them, a $5 dollar gift card from Microsoft and a $5 dollar gift card from My Points to be given to my relatives to buy groceries from Wal Mart which is the company that will sent me the cards.

Glad to read to hear about your good luck with surveys..I thought they did not pay. I had once tried it yskr forever answering questions then they say I am not qualified. Good job.
