THIS GOES TO THE GARBAGE. NO, DON'T THROW IT OUT I WILL FIX IT OR USE IT FOR ……

It has happened to me many times, that I have frets in my house and I keep them, because at the moment it occurs to me that I will fix them or use them for anything. This is because I really like DIY practice. In this sense, there are many things that I have recovered, fixed, and even invented. But the amount of these is inversely proportional to how many frets I have. On the other hand, my wife lives throwing things away. She can't start cleaning, because if something seems useless or misplaced,! Zaz! To the trash can. No, don't throw it away…. It is my cry, and sometimes I can save the object, sometimes not. I ask you, are men more prone to this type of storage or gathering behavior? It will be that with age it becomes more intense. I really don't know if it's normal. I know that I do not reach the extremes of compulsive accumulators (not even close) but I must confess that I am always thinking of saving things for later use. What do you think friends, I am interested in your answer (although I know I will not change) LOL

It helps me to know that it is not only men who do this. Our case is totally the opposite, you keep things, your husband discards, I save, my wife discards. LOL.

Both of us tend to keep things in the hope that we'll be able to use it in the future. We have made/repaired a great many things and saved a huge amount of money by doing so. We keep scraps of wood, steel, tubing, etc and are often able to make something we need rather than buy it. However, we are now selling our smallholding/farmlet and have had to throw out quite a bit of stuff which is a bit sad but we can't take so much with us.

@profree2019 That's it exactly - an inexplicable attachment.

It becomes difficult for us to get rid of some things, it is an inexplicable attachment.

@Nevena83 I think it usually is. The women throw it away and we collect it. LOL.

I have always been terrible about this. Repurpose, refurbish, and reuse has always been a strong part of my philosophy. Unfortunately my FOLLOW through is not as good. And so I have a lot of junk lying around that I will probably never actually get to. lol

Am also like that and I think it's a normal human behavior and every person is like that's. It's human nature I guess

I’m a saver because almost every time I throw something away, I have a need for it within a week.
