Got Out of The House….

...And I don’t mean for a shopping trip. I mean for exercise.
My 19yr old niece has been trying to teach herself how to roller skate. She likes to go to one of the many tennis or basketball courts to practice because of the somewhat flat surface. I’d prefer someone to go with her because I worry too much (and you can never be too careful), so I went with her a few days ago, and her brother went with her yesterday. I went with her again today, but I decided instead of just standing there watching and talking to her, I’d walk around the court (but out of her way) to get in my walking. I set my timer for 30 minutes and walked around the court as she practiced her roller skating.
Oh, I also tried to jog, but I only got in about two minutes before I was done, so I need to work on that one. I added two minutes to my time though, so I walked for 30 minutes and jogged for two minutes. I also timed our walk to and from the court, and it was about a six-minute walk each way.
When I added it to MyFitnessPal, I did leisurely for the 12-minute walk and slow-paced for the 30-minute walk. I walked faster to get to and from the court to keep up with my niece, but I slowed it down on my own time. For the jogging, I did a slower pace.
So, I could do better with jogging, but at least I got in a 30-minute (or even 42-minute) walk today. I think I’m going to make this a daily thing (or at least a Mon.-Fri. thing). It’s a good excuse to get off my rear end and start walking more again, and not just to and from the store. It’ll also help me to train or whatnot for the Medal Dash Virtual 5K I mentioned a few posts ago. We’re mainly planning to walk it, so why not start now?
All in all, I’m proud of myself for deciding to walk around the court for 30-minutes. :)

I miss roller blading. Kept saying I'm going to buy some but don't lol. They're also tough to find for adults, ugh.
You did great

I've never roller bladed or most of that stuff. Barely roller skated, but maybe one day I'll learn. I kind of wanna learn how to ride a bike (nope, I don't know how). Have you tried Amazon for roller blades? I can always ask my sister where she got hers, if you're interested.
Thank yooou!

@Courtlynn I've just never had the opportunity to learn, and I didn't think about it enough to ask back in the day.

I completely agree. If you can be active, you should. Nothing but you, stopping you. That's a decent walk.
Got out to play Pokemon go, today and despite the rain, still broke out into a sweat.

One year we did a walk for cancer, I forget what it was called. It was a two day event, but we were only there for one day. All that walking was so nice, I loved it! It sounds like you really enjoy walking, too:) I'm pretty good on roller skates, I did it for about four years at a roller rink.
