For many it is a sigh of relief and for many others it is of sadness that the annual Cricket Carnival called Indian Premier League(IPL) 2021 had been cancelled. After two players of our home team Kolkata Knight Riders tested positive the organisers had to take the call more seriously. But of course, they were aware the bubbles the eight teams were traveling in were not leak proof. One factor that the organisers were aware of, I hope, the teams and their entourage had to travel often to cities in different parts of India. They were always in risk of the viral infection . And, eventually , what was feared, did happen. IPL for the time being has been hit out for a huge six!
It is sad not only for the players but also for those who earn livelihood from the Cricket tournament every year. Last year too, the matches were played in UAE due to the presence of the invisible "player" rampaging around the country. This year we had hoped that "good days" will dawn but all our hopes were shattered tragically!

Yeah, it's so sad because it also means losing income but it is better they stay healthy so they can earn again after COVID is controlled

I am very disappointed to see the IPL getting canceled. It was very nice to view the matches live everyday. However, health should matter more than entertainment. Nothing can be done at the expense of health.

Indian people are going through a harrowing epidemic. It would have been unwise to expose players and all with them to such deadly risk.

Our boys and girls love watching the matches. They are robbed of the fun too.
