Roti jala or net bread/lace pancake is easy to make. All you need are: - 1 egg - 1 cup of water - 1 cup of flour - 1/4 cup of oil - salt - food colouring (mostly yellow but by all means, go creative, no problem) Mix well and strain. Then start layering in a pan. I would use a non stick flat pan. I fail using any other. Let it cook for 2-4 minutes on one side using low heat. Then, take it out and start rolling, shaping, however you want to serve it. This is good to be eaten with curry. Image is mine.

They look like the candy snap things we used to have that were made of something like honeycomb.

Is there flour needed? I imagine adding water with egg would be weird. I don't see any flour in your ingredients

The net type is the easiest for me. I use the sauce bottle. Here's the example on how it's done. Image: Mingguan Wanita

@prinzcy thanks for the picture. That's really interesting how you get the lace effect. I've never tried anything like that

Yes, it is easy. I would really recommend using the non stick flat pan. If it sticks to the pan, then the net/lace would be ruin.

You dip them with curry. But some would roll the curry in the bread. I see that as a messy process so I prefer the dipping.
