I really like working as a cashier at the Wilkes-Barre Price Chopper Supermarket as I meet so many great people. I work with great people who are my Teammates, and I wait on some wonderful customers. It is my honor to serve. I am especially impressed with how the organization responded to the pandemic. In March 2020, when the pandemic hit our sales volume skyrocketed as people were buying everything in sight. We had to work long and hard hours to meet the demand. In the beginning there were no safeguards, no social distancing, no face masks, and no plastic shields around the registers. I was amazed at how my Teammates courageously faced and overcame the threat as they bravely continued to work everyday! It is a miracle that I do not know of any Teammate or customer who got the corona virus at the store. By the Grace of God, we were spared and stayed healthy. I even published an article about this, and the URL is listed below. Please read and enjoy the article.
I have been at Price Chopper for over 19 years and I am friends with many of the customers. We talk about everything, including Spiritual things and sometimes I give them literature to take home and read. It is fascinating to see my customers grow Spiritually by attending services at Sherman Hills Apartments, and getting involved with the Keystone Mission.
I enjoy working with all the great young people that work at Price Chopper, as this keeps me feeling young. Many of these young people are Superstars with a bright future. Kendra is one of these young Superstars. March was Women's Month at Price Chopper and Awards were given out to some of our outstanding women. The awards are part of the Her Story Program, and I Nominated Kendra for the award and she won! She was the only woman in Pennsylvania to receive this award! Kendra is a Senior at King's College and she is majoring in Elementary Education. She loves working with children and will be a great teacher. Any school would be fortunate to have her on their staff. We certainty hope Kendra gets a full time teaching job as soon as she graduates.

Its really nice that you have been working there for so long.
The cashiers here have to move to other places as part of their job.
We make friends easily with them though.
