Wow, no more masks? Maybe?

Just saw on the news that the CDC says if we've been vaccinated with two Covid vaccines, we don't have to wear a mask!
Of course, businesses can still require a mask if they want to. But hopefully they'll soon remove that requirement.
Going on almost two years of those frustrating masks. Our grandson Nathan was the first one around here the end of 2019 who bought us a box of masks. He knew what was coming.
Now I can smile at people again. Or frown. However the mood strikes.
We can actually tell if someone is smiling or talking or pouting or flirting or frowning.
The only good thing about wearing a mask, well, other than maybe not catching the virus, was not needing to put on makeup.
But being maskless will be worth the extra effort to look presentable.
How do you feel about this announcement by the CDC?

This virus will be with us for a long time.
Vaccinations will hopefully reduce the deaths and serious effects but people will still get infected and spread it.
Personally I think keeping wearing a mask is the best way to go for at least the next few months.

One assumption is that vaccinations at a large scale would make the virus effects milder and prevent hospitalization.

I have mixed feelings since I only have one vaccine in my arm. I would like to get rid of the mask myself soon.

@1creekgirl I am still waiting for the date and place for the shot to take place. Most likely in June.

I don't think I'll ever get completely used to a mask.

I will continue to wear a mask in public places, for the safely of myself and others around me.

Although I've had two vaccines and I know it's not 100% effective, I'll still wear a mask less often.

It's good news, I also heard it from the news just now. If it happens all over I can already put lipstick.

Like many other things coming out of our government, I will take a wait-and-see position for a little while and see if this removal of mask restriction has a negative impact on the number of cases. Call me paranoid. I'm fully vaccinated but still a bit frightened about the whole mess.

What a pretty mask! I/we will be continuing to wear the masks, period. We may be doing better here, but it doesn't sound like the rest of the world is . . . so as long as people are traveling and such, I can't feel confidently safe unless the good status stands the test of time.

@1creekgirl After what the world has been through for well over a year now, any glimmer of hope is welcomed . . . people want to hear and believe good news. I think we'd all like to break out of these surreal times, but I hope we do it extremely cautiously. To me it's just too soon to tell. But let's hope that things are actually improving - even if it takes more time.

@1creekgirl It's my health and my life that is at stake and so I can endure the little inconveniences a little longer just to make sure that things are really safe. Stay safe, healthy and live long and happy!

That's great; but we will still wear masks in instances in which we will be exposed to a lot of people.

I think you need to wear masks if vaccinated with two Covid vaccines , many countries reporting covid infected , after vaccinated , reason for that still health authorities still studying , time goes by we can know exactly what can we do for this ,

It was one of the first ones I bought, but soon realized it really wouldn't protect me from the virus. So I started wearing the ugly blue and white pleated ones.

I really don't mind the masks so much, maybe because I only wear one when I go to stores. I will continue to wear one for some time, since there are many unvaccinated people around and even though I had both shots, I know I can still get the virus.

Here in the Philippines, it's still a requirement. It's sad because cases are still rising even vaccination is going on.
The news have mentioned that even there are vaccinations, we can still get contaminated but it won't be that dangerous. It'll be a light case.
That is why it is still required that we use a face mask and a face shield.
Take care and keep safe all the time

I heard the news too.
good for you guys.
still, I don't understand are the vaccines 100% effective, that you won't require a mask at all.
or is it that you can get affected it's just that you won't die?
