The stars have got out of whack - meaning we've hit a few snags

It seems to be a given for appliances to break down just when you’d rather they didn’t. We went away for the weekend and when we returned and turned on the oven to make dinner, the stove didn’t get hot. Then the light went out. As we move out in a fortnight, this wasn’t a good sign.
Next morning we called out an electrician who found the burnt-out power point you can see in the photo. We were probably very lucky that it didn’t cause a fire.
The electrician couldn’t actually fix it but charged for his travelling and time which is understandable. The ‘proper’ gas/electrician came out next morning and the stove is now operational again. We’re still waiting for his account.
Now, Vince’s Apple Mac has given up the ghost and we’re in the process of buying another. We need the computer if we’re to continue taking and selling photos. However, it seems we might need the income from the photos to help cover the costs of breakdowns.
The third problem still to be fixed is that of the spa bath. We picked up a new motor for it when we were in Perth. Hopefully, it will be a relatively easy task to install it but that isn’t always the case.
The stars that I thought were all aligned have got a bit out of whack at the moment.

Sometimes my tablet does that. I was watching a YouTube video on Sunday and suddenly the tablet switched off for no reason. There was still plenty of battery life so I don't know why it should have done that!

I do not really like this but I gave the discussion a like. I actually am sorry this is happening.

That's interesting as if I read a piece and comment, I always give it a 'like', unless it's something I strongly oppose. I think 'like' is not the best word. Maybe 'seen' or 'acknowledged' would be better. Thanks for the sympathy. This time in two weeks all the dramas will be over - we hope!

Like my mother says...things happen in bunches. That does seem to be the case, as when it rains it pours kind of thing. I am fully prepared for any of my appliances to break at anytime. Except for the washer,TV, microwave and dryer they are all old!

It might feel that way, but better this stuff happens now, instead of when the next owner claims the prporety. Could you imagine the battle you'd have on your hands if they went after you for not filling an agreement?

I guess it wouldn't be life if everything was too perfect . We just replaced our washer/dryer . .. didn't want to but it was necessary. At least an appliance breakdown is better than having a nervous breakdown (or maybe it could cause it ).

@JudyEv Ha ha yes my partner is rather like that. He deals with the IT stuff but as far as fixing physical things is concerned, he has little patience and just gets mad and starts shouting and swearing! So it's usually me that does the plumbing and electrical stuff.

The spa is still giving us grief but otherwise things are going well.

@JudyEv That's good. Keep at it! Soon you will be in your new home; and you will spot some kangaroos and feel right at home.

@JudyEv It can be a balancing act as you leave one place for another. I can see both sides of that argument.
