I am genuinely interested in what others do to save money. My husband and I have started an “envelope” system. Money goes into a bill envelope, only bills come out of this one. Money goes into a savings envelope, no money comes out unless it’s an emergency. We also save our ones in an envelope, just as many save change. Every purchase that leaves us with ones, they go into that envelope. Of course, we also save change. When the change gets to be too much, we change them in for ones. This has actually been working very well. A percentage of pay goes into the bills and we seem to be making work!

That's a nice and good way of keeping it.
Why not use saving accounts with the bank?

Just like putting it in envelopes.
Put it in something where you cant take the money out from.

So this is made of quality clay.
You cant actually take out the money.
For that, you will have to break it.
This way even if you tempted to take the money out, you can't actually without a valid reason.

Have you ever thought about using coupons whenever you can.

That is definitely something helpful....I will admit I’m lazy with coupons, but really would help.

I mostly shop with a credit card as it gives me 1.5% cash back. When I sometimes shop with money I take all the change I get (coins) and put it into coin rolls. Once I've filled enough rolls I deposit into the bank. Change can really add up. I once deposited about $23-worth of pennies.

Welcome friend Pennie Book. What they are doing is good, it is a way of conserving their savings and being able to set goals in this regard. The important thing is to be constant and be clear about what you want.
