Trader Joe's says customers don't have to wear masks if fully vaccinated

They announced today that customers who have been fully vaccinated do not have to wear masks in their stores. They will still enforce social distancing and have their employees wear masks. Um. . . are we just putting people on the "honor system"? The company said they wouldn't require proof of vaccination. The store around here has had lines around the building since they were only letting so many people in at once. I really don't think the past year has hurt their bottom line. This is a corporate policy. Obviously I don't know what the situation is around the country with the stores and their sales but TJ is pretty popular. I don't know why they feel the need to drop the mask mandate before it is safe to.
Trader Joe's customers don't have to wear a mask while shopping, the grocery chain said Friday.

I have felt safe shopping at TJ, they until recently were sanitizing carts and letting only so many people in at once. Now I will still wear a mask though I am vaccinated. Yes, "honor systems" always work so well.

All through the pandemic I have felt safest at TJs - our stores went above and beyond - I thought. So this surprises me greatly. I think CA, or at least L.A. says they're not lifting the mandate just yet . . . so hmmmm. I am/was an avid TJ shopper, so I'm sure I'll soon find out .

Though the decision taken by the Government must be with some reasoning, but looking at the pandemic we have here in our country, I feel it s better to wear Mask and alo to maintain the social distancing for our own sake and also for the sake of other members of the society!

Well the word is you don’t need to wear a mask, those who feel safer with one can still wear it. I will carry it with me and use as needed.

I really think it's too soon for that.

They are making a mistake, covid can attack you even if you are vaccinated until the body builds up enough immune system and that's up to A year and more. People are dying even if vaccinated

I'd still wear mask even though I'm fully vaccinated (and I still have yet to) and even though I'm not obliged to.

They are lifting the mask thing here and California I read. But I am not sure what stores are requiring it around here. Yeah just looked it up for here..here is the latest for Denver, Colorado No capacity restrictions, no masks if you're vaxxed (or a business requires them) A year and two months after the first COVID-19 case arrived in Denver, the city will remove restrictions on capacity starting Sunday, allowing businesses to operate at 100 percent. And if you're vaccinated, you no longer need to wear a mask unless a business requires them.

I agree with you people could even say they have been vaccinated when they are not, It is not a good situation and best to keep safe,
