Fans Are Replacing the Air conditioner

Normally at these times ( May Month) we start using the Air conditioner at home but from last year things have taken a U Turn that we don't require AC these days and if we want can use AC in June. This could be due to Global shut down which happened in the last year and even now many states are under lock down in India which will close the industries and other works that affect the environment so thuis will keep the environment less hotter and air will be fresh too. Have you witnessed any changes in the weather conditions since last year?

It looks you have a point dear friend! Because of Global shut down the pollution levels must have gone down and the temperature must have remained at its low! That is true at this moment we are also hardly using the ACs!

It hasn’t been hot enough yet for us to need the a/c. As soon as it does, the a/c will be running all summer here.

@DianneN Once the AC sets in, electricity bills go up 4 to 5 times.

This is interesting. I noticed it is less hot so far compared to last year. I am surprised that the heat is tolerable considering it is already May. If this goes on up to June and August then something must have really changed.

I don't think it'll stay like that till June but even staying like that till may end will be a great achievement.

Yes once the lockdown in Delhi and nearby areas started around late April, temperatures are under control. We do at times need AC but switch it off after some time. However, early June would see higher - 42 C plus temperatures most probably.

We do use aircon only at night to save electricity. During the pandemic I think there is a big change in the weather

I have not noticed any changes in the weather conditions. This month of May is cooler than the past year, but we had cold months of May also in the past.

Yes and I feel there's a cleaner air now and the plants are greener. Due to the lockdown most people resorted to planting ornamental plants in their residences, and it contributes to less emission of carbon dioxide. We don't use airconditioning units at home, power bills are expensive here. We have wide windows at home so there's a free flow of air.

The reason we used less air conditioner this time round is possibly because we have been unusually having rains in April, and May. While May showers are there, what follows is dry climate with higher temperatures. This year, we have had rains almost every evening.

The weather changes in my place are always extreme but we don't have the power to stop them all against our will. or maybe it can increase the activities in the room but with an open ventilation system so that cool air can enter
