A new hobby

I have tried to read again. Many years ago, I spent more time reading books. But when I started working, reading became a boring thing to me. But I feel intellectually retarded when I don't read. So for days now, I have spent some time reading a book. My recent favorite is Roald Dahl. What about you?

I love to read. My reading has reduced a lot over years as there are more and more responsibilities to be taken care of. But I still make sure that I read a bit in afternoon be it some articles online or a book or a newspaper. Roald Dahl's books are ageless. My younger one has again picked up Matilda this vacation. She is reading it for the third time

I've always loved reading. I've been an avid reader since I was a kid. Reading is such a good activity to do.

Short of the reading required to post here, or the occassional fan fiction. I don't really read anymore. I kind of have been turned off to it, because of it being forced on me as a kid.

I see. Though at this time, i think reading short stories is much better than novels as the latter are so long

I do a lot of reading and research but I do it on the internet now, mostly on current events, DIY, preparedness, financial literacy ,history and everything else

@Janet357 yes I always preferred non-fiction over fiction. Watching documentaries is part of my history reading.

During the last year, I've been reading one book right after another. Am I learning? No, but the mental exercise is keeping my mind active and less apt to worry.

I so agree with this one. Reading may reduce the possibility of getting dementia.

@Janet357 Dementia is sometimes from inactivity of the human brain. It starts to break down.

It's a good hobby . But I don't read books as don't get time. Seriously I think I should read books to improve my writing skills.

I love to read but I find it harder to find the time nowadays. At least, time to read my own books. I mean I always have one on the go, but often I can only read a page every day or two! I do read to the girls almost every day though, and now they are older it's much better as we can share books we all enjoy : )

@Janet357 That's impossible to answer without knowing what you like! Do you prefer novels or short stories or autobiographies or non-fiction?
