Incredible Footage From Motion Sensors

Sharing a photo that really scared me to see from my new trail camera. This is a Fox. One of the biggest predators for small animals. And baby rabbits. Thankfully he could not jump the fence or dig his way under. He tried both. I watched a video and was very afraid for the babies. They are safe. He gave up. Since then, we talked to farmers and the local co-op for ways of deterring the foxes. And the story continues. Photo is from the trail camera. This was snapped by the motion sensor at 2:am. You can see the date, time and temperature is at the bottom of the photo. Amazing, right! The arrow is pointing to the rabbit nest, in the ground.

@Nevena83 It would be good if you could get one. They make all different types and sizes. Maybe you can find one to order. I am trying ways to keep the fox away.

@CarolDM It would be good to have such a camera, because my yard is huge and I don't have a fence. I believe I would be surprised to see everything. I believe the fox will come back because she sniffed them and won't give up until she finds a way to get to them.

I don't like to see fox for that very reason. I hope that he stays on the other side of that fence.

@CarolDM The Momma bunny is watching and she will move the nest if she feels it a dangerous place.

I know. And I hope the deterrents we have in place will keep him away for now.

@Juliaacv Yes if she can before it's too late. She watches from a distance and only feeds once a day.

Oh No! So glad the fox was unsuccessful. Hopefully the local farmers have good tips on deterring him.

Have been reading a lot about them. At 4-5 weeks old, they are weaned from the mother. Writing a post about it soon.

Its a great photo of him. I dont know personally if it works, but have heard many people say to have a boy or man pee in the area you see the fox. In this case on the fence posts as that is where an animal would mark. That is a common answer when I see people ask in the chicken groups.

Urban foxes are a problem here for people who keep rabbits and I know some around here have chickens as well. Must be a constant battle to keep foxes out

@CarolDM I would have thought that coyotes are a bigger problem and from what I've read they are becoming quite the urban dwellers

@Ronrybs They used to be until homes were built behind us. Foxes seem to be worse here for the farmers. I am more in a rural setting.
