It's Official. I Am Burned Out.

You know it right away when you just have no interest or motivation at work, and you feel like you are just going through the motions and dialing it in.
But, ultimately you don't give a flying leap.
That's where I am at at work at this very moment, and I have been feeling this way for about a week or more to this point. I am officially burned out and my vacation to Florida won't be until August. So, there's two months there that I have to just grin and bear it, I suppose.
Incidentally, I was a bit burned out here on MyLot as well.
Maybe it's just that it has been sort of a long wait to get some really nice weather and that's what is not burning me out, per se, but moreso putting me into a bit of a funk.
Either way, I never like feeling burned out. I also tend to spend more than usual on lottery tickets.
Onward and upward, and I will see you all on the other side of this burn out, funk, or whatever you want to call it.

Everyone feels that way about work at some point unless he/she has a dream job. It's going to be 89 here today. It will feel like Florida. Why don't you work on planning your trip? That always lifts my spirits. Try and have a good day.

@porwest Do you know everything that you are going to see and do? I even look for reviews on restaurants in the area, etc. I'm really anal about planning stuff.

@LindaOHio My life is so routine and planned out that when I go on vacation I don't want a schedule and I don't want a plan. It's the one time I prefer to just do whatever I want, on my own terms, and at my own pleasure.

I started reading and was gonna say maybe you need a vacation. Can you at least take a few days off and go away some where?
Maybe you can go play the slots? It’s fun and you can win big.

@porwest I remember playing the slots... You sit at the machine, spin and win, spin and win. Seems like you’re profiting, except that your winnings are smaller than your bets. In the end, you’re not profiting but losing.

@lovebuglena That's pretty much how I remember it. In the end you walk away with empty hands.

I have never known a casino to be any place other than one to leave your money behind. In all the years I have gambled the biggest pot I ever won was $400 in Vegas. But I have lost far more than that. That might make me sick to my stomach before ever helping me out of my doldrums.
It IS fun, though. I will admit that. But gain from it financially? Probably not.

@porwest That's bad. See if you can plan something for the weekend or whenever you have the week off something interesting. Good luck

I hope you`ll feel better soon. Working a lot without a break will lead to burn out. I hope you`ll get your vacation soon

I think this is something many of us have at times. Is there any routine you can change up a little? Someplace for lunch you haven't tried before? A date night with your wife? Anything to get life stirred up a little until you can take that proper vacation in August.

Hope you can hang on until your vacation in August. Will you get a long weekend off for Memorial Day?

It will be tough. Once you're burned out, you're burned out. But I think I can survive. lol. Yep, three day weekend for Memorial Day. Looking forward to it, and looks like family will be out of town so we probably won't even have to commit to a get together.

I hear you.
Feel the same towards the work I have now. I'm started feeling this last year when I saw first hand how they backtracked on the support that they said they will provide to employees who get the virus. A couple of my officemates got it and there was zero support whatsoever.
Plus, they have the gall to tell people to go back to work onsite because there are vaccines available already.
I've been looking for new work but nothing has come up yet.

What part of Florida are you headed to in August?

@porwest The panhandle has some beautiful beaches. I love that area of the state, although I don't get over that way too often. I've been to St. George Island to the east of Cape San Blas, but never over on St. Joseph Island. That whole area is beautiful and pristine. Haven't been there since the hurricane tore through Mexico Beach. I hope the area is still as gorgeous as it was.

@moffittjc From the pictures it looks pretty nice, and our house is directly on the beach. I will definitely share pictures once we get there.

You but lottery tickets? I would never have thunk that one.
I thought I had vacation time the end of April and then may but never got it in so now it's moved to the end of June. I've been in a funk at work too but not because of that but because I'm forced to work until next April before dropping down in hours as my husband needs my insurance until then.
