Well, the pearl necklace for my ice princess arrived on schedule.
They are so luminous that they hurt my eyes! I love the clasp with a little pearl and the little M charm for Mikimoto. Never noticed that before.
They came in a necklace holder, a beribboned box, and a felt bag, a book of care, polishing cloth, and extra ribbon to rewrap the box with a gold sticker. Don’t know where to stick it.
My younger son and husband told me she’d never wear it. I disagree.
Do you wear pearl necklaces?

Oh, yesss... pearls are my only accessories. I have a necklace and large pearl earrings. I get compliments on them all the time.

@DianneN When I was married the first time my wife and I both dripped diamonds... When I married my second wife, she preferred pearls.
She made me replace a diamond I wore with a pearl. I never did find out what she did with the diamond but I do still wear that pearl. I just can't show it to you.

@DaddyEvil I’ve heard that pearls can be used in a variety of ways, but not so with diamonds.

Mikimoto pearls are pretty expensive. It would be nice to have one to wear for special occasions. Your granddaughter will cherish your gift.

@DianneN Like Japan, my country also has an island called Palawan where local divers go deep for pearls. It is said that wearing pearls actually attract good fortune.
I did wear pearls because of its beauty.

Personally no! She may not wear them now as she is still quite young but in the future they will be a timeless accessory. Pearls will never go out of fashion & always look tasteful no matter the occasion. Great forever choice Dianne. The Queen mother was very fond of Pearls as was my Grandmother. My mother would only ever wear them for certain events.

Even if she doesn't wear it now, I bet she will sometime. I have worn pearls but only the fake ones. When my great grandmother was alive her kids chipped in and got her some real pearls to wear. That was a nice gift.

I wore my pearls with jeans and a sweatshirt at times.
Hopefully, she will wear them only on special occasions. My kids used my pearls as an abacus when they were little to count by 2s, 4s, 5s, etc. They stretched them out and I had to have them restrung. N

I once bought myself pearls for an anniversary gift for myself. When I told hubs he didn’t have to worry about getting me a gift, he hit the ceiling - figuratively. He told me way back then that only he is in charge of buying me jewelry. I haven’t bought myself anything of value since.
Her mother told me she would love a pearl necklace. I hope so.

I used to wear them back in the 60s. I haven't worn them since. She can wear it and pass it down to her daughter/daughter-in-law.

@DianneN I find it too dressy for my work uniform which is only shirt and denims. There are times though that i wear them when am not wearing my office uniform.
