Memorial Day weekend and the “unofficial start of summer” is right on our doorsteps! Summer and good music go hand in hand, and here’s another song from the collection of great tunes by the legendary Marvin Gaye to help get you in the mood!
#5: It Takes Two (with Kim Weston)
And here’s another one of Marvin’s terrific duets. This time, it’s Kim Weston. While Weston had a number of influential recordings (most notably, “Take Me in Your Arms [Rock Me],” which was later a hit for the Doobie Brothers), this terrific love song duet was her biggest hit.
Weston divorced the song’s co-writer, William “Mickey” Stevenson, and moved on with life. She’s 81 and still performs.
And what a dream come true she and Marvin gave us with this one!
